It’s in the NEWS! Newspaper. It’s one of the things I’ve never thrown away. And with my obsessive coupon clipping last year..we have TONS! While newspaper comes in handy when cleaning windows/mirrors, stuffing and wrapping packages. Paint strips of newspaper to make colorful newspaper roses. Make biodegradable seedling starters! These Newspaper nails are a must try in my book! WHY didn’t I think of this!!! Need an envelope… don’t worry! Run a piece thru the printer and put it in a frame for a great way to display silhouettes. If you’re feeling extra spunky… take a look at this Newspaper dress. I made these Newspaper Gift Bags: Aren’t they so neat! There are tons of tutorials out there. These would be great for all you Etsy sellers that are doing craft shows this summer! Do you have a favorite way to re-use your newspaper?? # kristanlynn xoxo

DIY Vertical Terrarium Mini Garden Wedding Favors We’re approaching the end of our DIY wedding favor series, but I guarantee you will love our last picks as much as the first ones. These vertical terrarium wedding favors make great gifts because they don’t take any room, and are extremely easy to maintain. Who wouldn’t want to bring a little bit of the outdoors to their home or office? – Gravel (can be found at any pet store in the aquarium section) – Air plants, cactus or succulents (you will need a small amount of potting soil if not using air plants) – Moss – spray paint – magnetic metal tins (from here or here, you just need to slap magnetic tape on the back!) Cover your tins with painter’s tape before you begin spray painting the inside of them. Place acrylic tops back in the metal frame of the caps and glue both pieces. Once your tins are dry from spray paint, remove tape and wash tins with water and soap.

If you have general questions about the use or operation of your Denon AVR, check out my FADQ (Frequently Asked Denon Questions). If you want some general background on modern AVR's, including explanations of new technologies like HDMI and upscaling, the first step should be to go and read MichaelJHuman's outstanding AVR FAQ at AVSforum.com Please note that this website deals primarily with installation, setup and use of "consumer level" Denon models. Before you Begin The first thing to understand about the modern AV receiver (AVR) is that it isn't like the good old days where you just plugged the red/white audio cables from the TV into the plug called "TV" and called it a day. ... and so forth. About We are a community of makers, artists, designers, and builders focused on simplifying the world of electronics DIY by modularizing information. Instead of showcasing users’ projects, we offer bite-size, easy-to-follow articles that help you hit the ground running. We understand that, for many, the idea is more important than the method of accomplishing it. Our hope is that by offering working code and wiring examples for almost anything you would want to make, we can create building blocks that will enable people to stop searching for help, and start getting their idea made. What’s all this talk about Modularized Information? It’s pretty simple. Imagine buying an entire car just because you needed a single part. More about the site bildr is not a company, has no funding, and does not make a profit. How can I help? The thing we need above all is content, in the wiki and blog. The simple goal of bildr At the end of the day, this is what we hope to accomplish.

Our Clean Up Crew! Welcome back another Made by Me Monday! Remember when I made THIS? It was round 3 of the Crafters Competition. As sad as I was to see the summer end, I am happy that we can make another one next year with different goals to accomplish. and made a list that we have been needing around our house, a Saturday Cleaning List! I found this cute green fabric in my craft box and decided that it would be a good background for behind the glass of my new list. a little bit of hot glue does the trick! and VIOLA! I am REALLY excited for this to be dry erase, so we can use it every Saturday! and when we get tired of the background, all we have to do is pick new fabric. I love it! After all, Saturday IS a special day, it's the day we get ready for Sunday!

BATPIG's Denon AVR Harmony command list NOTE: These commands will work with any Denon AVR! Not just the 3808. The reason I started with the "AVR 3808CI" device is that it had the most thorough database of commands available at the time. All Denon AVR's share the same basic IR commands so you can use these with ANY Denon AVR. If anything is missing you can always "teach" a missing command or two to your Harmony from your factory Denon remote. OPTION 1 - If you already have Denon device profile and don't want to start over from scratch, you can just add what you need from the list below OPTION 2 - To get the full command list, you can copy over the entire device profile With either option, you must either call or email Logitech Harmony tech support and request any specific commands (or the whole shebang) from the list below.

CD drive scavenging for parts Old CD drives are a decent source for parts to make things from. Since the computer industry has encouraged manufacturing churn for so many decades, it is pretty easy to find at least a few surplus drives to dissect. Inside these dusty relics, you will be lucky to find DC motors, switches, gears, springs and more. The tools you will need are pretty easy to come by as well. From the parts you will find, you can make a number of interesting projects. You can get drives from old computers, which always seem to be at the dump, on the sidewalk of some neighborhoods, out on the loading dock of the school, in basements and garages, etc. Teach your family to solder! Supplies: Old computer CD drives (older ones often have better parts) Plastic bags for storing parts (zippered half size sandwich bags are great) Small cardboard boxes for storing the larger metal and plastic partsBattery holder Tape Paper and pen Digital camera Paper clip Concepts: How does it work?
