3 Resources For Deleting Your Unwanted Online Accounts As web apps become the norm, the Internet is fast becoming a series of usernames and passwords. Accounts make services more useful, but they can be a security threat if left unmonitored. If you’re not using a particular account anymore, and doubt that you ever will, it’s a good idea to delete that account. However, deleting an online account is sometimes easier said than done. Many web services seem to intentionally hide the button that reduces their user statistics. This can make deleting online accounts around the web more than a little frustrating.

100 Websites You Should Know and Use In the spring of 2007, Julius Wiedemann, editor in charge at Taschen GmbH, gave a legendary TED University talk: an ultra-fast-moving ride through the “100 websites you should know and use.” Six years later, it remains one of the most viewed TED blog posts ever. The Best Mac Apps of 2012 So Far As you some of you may have seen, we recently asked our Twitter and Facebook followers to name their favorite Mac desktop apps of the year so far – thanks again to everyone who sent us suggestions. After a little in-house brainstorming, we took the decision to add a few apps that were released earlier than 2012, but have become very important in our lives this year. Here’s the full selection we came up with, from blockbusters to hidden gems. 1. Angry Birds Space (Game) If we live in the same universe, chances are it doesn’t need an introduction, but just in case: Angry Birds Space is the latest installment in the Angry Birds franchise, and one of our personal favorites.

Apps for Guided Reading We have carried out various projects in schools looking at using the iPads to encourage reading. Guided Reading time, or group reading time, is especially popular. Ideally the teacher and the iPads would be in different groups – the iPads are encouraging independent reading, and activities which allow the children to explore books, character, plot and so on by themselves. Producing at the end of the 20min / 30min session something which can be saved either to a webdav or to dropbox or which can be shared to the rest of the class. It is important that texts chosen and activities selected are appropriate to the level of the children, and often the teachers introduces a text to the children first. For this reason the iPads and activities were often on a two week rotation.

Who's Proud to Be an American? February 8, 2005 by Joseph Carroll, Gallup Poll Assistant Editor Americans are extremely proud of their country. Since 2001, Gallup has been asking Americans a simple question: "How proud are you to be an American?" The results consistently show that the majority of adults nationwide are proud, and a review of the Gallup data* over the past several years finds some interesting political and racial differences. Best Free Online Applications and Services Online applications (also known as web applications or webware) are getting more popular, particularly when broadband Internet access has become more common and readily available to more users. With online applications and services, you do not need to download and install them into your computer for using them—you just need to open up a browser and access them online. Not only that you can save harddisk space as they do not need to be installed, but also you can work with files that are saved online from any computer anywhere, without the need to carry a storage device even a USB stick around with you. Besides, you don't have to worry about different operating systems as these applications and services are cross-platform, running in your browser as a client. Neither do you need to keep updating your software versions, as you will get any new software updates and bug fixes automatically whenever you access them. Like to use them?

Book Creator Since I discovered Red Jumper’s Book Creator I have been singing it’s praises from the rooftops! It has proven itself time and time again in the classroom, and when teachers have been shown the potential they have always thought of lots of different ways it could be used. Put simply it allows you to create your own iBook. An iBook with pictures, video, sound and text. An iBook which can be shared through dropbox (as an e.pub) or opened in iBooks.

South Park Works Game Of Thrones Into Mr. Garrison's History Lesson Game of Thrones Is everywhere. It was just a matter of time before it made its way to South Park. Last night's episode of the Comedy Central animated series focused on a new girt at school and Cartman finding love… sort of. During this, a bizarre nod to HBO's series Game of Thrones made its way into the episode, and the kids' classroom.
