The finalized work is one that is beautifully engaging, temporary and colorfully alive. The initial experience feels a touch kitchy with it’s aesthetic trickery but once past understanding the illusion the work is quite alluring. The Art Of Levitation: 6 Photographers Who Feature Gravity-Defying Subjects Just because you can’t do something in real life, doesn’t mean you can’t make it happen with a bit of Photoshopping and some hard work. After all, what has the internet taught us if not that when you can’t achieve something, fake it? And so it goes with levitation. It’s not something most people claim they can do, apart from those flying Buddha types or some yogic masters. But people can levitate, or appear to levitate, in photographs. Hayashi Natsumi In her levitation shots she seems to be jumping yet suspended in the air, sometimes going about daily tasks like vacuuming or going through a subway station. Li Wei Creator Li Wei likes to make a fuss when he does his incredible levitation photos. Franck Bohbot French photographer Franck Bohbot’s black and white photos are a more casual form of levitation—street photography gets a magical addition as people float in the air while walking down the street or checking their phone. @stewart23rd

Underlined Book Quotes Become Clever Illustrations Bookworm or not, you can't help but enjoy these black and white illustrations of literary quotes by Evan Robertson. The New York-based graphic designer has taken some of the cleverest lines written by famous authors such as William Faulkner and Oscar Wilde and turned them into wonderful posters. These literature-inspired fine art illustrations are currently being sold on Etsy under the name Obvious State. Robertson would see a "little jewel of a sentence" and he'd underline it. Then, he would take those "snippets of text and ideas" and "let the words be a springboard for an illustration." As he told Huffington Post, "The illustrations incorporate and interact with the text and hopefully add up to something that engages the mind as much as the eye." Here are 12 of our favorites. Update: Check out more clever illustrations in Part II of this story. Obvious State on Etsy via [Quipsologies], [Huffington Post]
