KICAC The Korea Independent Commission Against Corruption (KICAC) was established on January 25th, 2002 pursuant to the Anti-Corruption Act, which was enacted in July 2001. The Commission is composed of nine commissioners including the Chairman, three of whom are recommended by the National Assembly, three by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and three by the President. Each serves a three-year term and can be reappointed for an additional term.
productivity measurement In line with its organizational mission, since 2007 the APO has conducted productivity measurement projects that provide a comparative analysis of the productivity and economic growth of APO member economies. The results of these projects support the Secretariat in planning need-based programs and assist member governments in formulating appropriate economic policies and strategies. These productivity measurement projects, implemented under a research partnership with Keio Economic Observatory of Keio University, Tokyo, are: In these projects, the APO undertakes three basic activities: first, developing a comparable database based on internationally harmonized methodology; second, assessing and adjusting data quality; and third, improving individual country data.
UNESCO Culture and development Measuring how culture contributes to economic development The Hangzhou Declaration of May 2013 was a key step in UNESCO’s advocacy for the role of culture in sustainable development. In this context, understanding the contribution of cultural employment to the economy is vital. Without appropriate methods of measurement and reliable statistics, countries lack the tools necessary to evaluate the extent and characteristics of cultural employment in a comparable way.

OEA - Organisation des États Américains : Démocratie pour la paix, la sécurité et le développement saarclaw South Asian Association For Regional Co-operation in Law, SAARCLAW, is an association of the legal communities of the SAARC countries comprising judges, lawyers, academicians, law teachers, public officers and a host of other law-related persons, duly registered with the SAARC Secretariat at Kathmandu and awarded the status of a Regional Apex Body Of SAARC. It owes its origin to the desire of the members of the legal community to establish an association within the SAARC region to disseminate information and to promote an understanding of the concerns and developments of the region. SAARCLAW was established in Colombo on 24th October 1991, when the then President of Sri Lanka His Excellency Ranasinghe Premadasa inaugurated the Association in the presence of a large gathering of the legal community. The Annual SAARCLAW CONFERENCES have been acclaimed as affording an opportunity to its members for interaction, exchange of ideas and for forging a spirit of solidarity.

Q1 2012 S’pore Business Formation Trends Released GuideMeSingapore.com has just released its latest Singapore Business Formation Statistics Report for the first quarter of 2012. According to the report, there has been a surge in business formation activity during the initial quarter of 2012. Company incorporations in Q1 2012 increased to 14,596 entities representing a jump of 11% over Q4 2011. Furthermore, Exempt Private Company (EPC) formations recorded a 16% growth from Q4 2011 to Q1 2012 and emerged as the most preferred business structure among those starting new firms. “Q1 2012 witnessed several positive economic developments, which served to bolster investor confidence in the local economy. Entrepreneurs and investors are evidently upbeat about the outlook for the global economy and this has accelerated the rate of company registrations in Singapore.
