Public Libraries International Network The 352nd Infantry Division at Omaha Beach by Stewart Bryant : Table of Contents | Background & Overview | Map of Invasion While much has been written about the Allied invasion on D-Day, very little had been known from the German side of this historical event, particularly the German 352nd Infantry Division (352ID), responsible for the defense of Omaha Beach. Shortly after the end of World War II, while a prisoner of war in the United States, Lt Col. Fritz Ziegalmann (Chief of Staff of the 352ID) wrote a history of the 352nd Infantry Division in Normandy. While most scholar draw upon the US Army's 1948 translation of Ziegalmann's work, their document lacked suitable translations for German military terminology and expressions. After a five year search, I found Ziegalman's original works and made my own translation to English to gain a more accurate understanding of the content and to draw a clearer understanding of the German preparations and defense of the Omaha Beach Sector. Origin of the 352nd Infantry Division , Lt Col. 1. Col.

Paper 3 | Matt King - CometBird This assignment will include three components: an editorial style argument about your community, the code for an Inform7 procedural argument, and a reflection/comparison section. Your purpose in the first part (2-2.5 pages) is to advocate for a position that you take toward your community. Your argument can take a number of forms, but it should take into account the knowledge and understanding you have gained from studying this community all semester long. The third section of your paper (2-4 pages) will allow you to reflect on your procedural argument and compare the similarities and differences between the two approaches to argumentation. You are welcome to draw on your research and incorporate outside texts in any way that helps you advance your argument. Specifics Part One You should conceive of this section of the paper as an editorial for The Daily Texan. Part Two Your work in Inform7 will result in code that can be played as an interactive text. Part Three Grading “C” paper: “B” paper:

List of national libraries A national library is specifically established by the government of a nation to serve as the pre-eminent repository of information for that country. Unlike public libraries, they rarely allow citizens to borrow books. Often, they include numerous rare, valuable, or significant works; such as the Gutenberg Bible. National libraries are usually notable for their size, compared to that of other libraries in the same country. Some national entities which are not independent but who wish to preserve their particular culture, have established a national library with all the attributes of such institutions, such as legal deposit. Many national libraries cooperate within the National Libraries Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) to discuss their common tasks, define and promote common standards and carry out projects helping them to fulfil their duties. Footnote.com - The place for original historical documents online procedural rhetoric | Digital Writing and Research Lab - CometBird Brief Overview of Assignment: In this assignment, my students used a game-authoring platform called ARIS (Augmented Reality and Interactive Storytelling) to create augmented reality games based on scenes or passages from novels studied in our course. Before continuing, I should explain what ARIS is and what I mean by “augmented reality game”: ARIS is an open-source program created by a research group at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The augmented reality games ARIS allows you to create are location-based, interactive experiences played in real-world spaces using a free iPhone app (unfortunately, ARIS isn’t currently supported by other smart phones). Working in groups of four, I instructed my students to select a scene and “translate” or “remediate” it into an augmented reality game. 1) The real world location selected for their game. 2) The types of media chosen for each part of their game. 3) The game challenge – i.e., what players have to do in the game.
