(Haha, whew, I didn’t realize how many there were until I started attaching the links. But today, the old (too short) angora wool sweater becomes a sling purse.. And that’s it.

Handmade Salt Pouches For The Shower Or Bath I love salt scrubs, especially this time of year when I want to slough off the dead skin from winter, and I equally love bath salts for the skin softening ingredients in them – but more often than not I find myself in the shower. These pouches are perfect for combining both bath salt and salt scrub into an exfoliating pouch I can bring into the shower, and they are simple to make. You can go a few different routes when making these so play around with your recipes and find your favorite. I made these for my mom for Mother’s Day so I added a few things for specific reasons. I will list them to give you an idea of how you can customize these to suit your needs. A few different ideas for a mix: Oatmeal, lavender buds, and powdered milk with a little of your favorite essential oilJust sea salt and grapefruit or petitgrain essential oil for an invigorating scrubSalts, herbs, and essential oil Start with 6 cheap washcloths. Folded in half, cut them into thirds.

All Natural Graffiti Made from Moss – Crafting a Green World I just love a DIY urban beautification project! Whether we’re talking about Kintta’s yarn graffiti or using seedbombs to spread greenery to blighted spaces, I’m struck by how much a little color can impact the urban landscape. Moss graffiti art and moss carvings definitely fall under this umbrella. Moss Graffiti Art Unlike spray paint, moss graffiti art is all natural and healthy to work with. In your blender, combine: One can of cheap beer or 1 1/2 cups buttermilkA few handfuls of mossOne teaspoon of sugar. Blend until the mixture is smooth, and you’re ready to get painting! You can use a brush to paint your moss onto concrete walls, rocks, or brick. Moss Carvings Already have a mossy wall? Have you guys seen other examples of cool, moss graffiti art? Backlit Canvas Art Do you have one project that you've been longing to do, but just haven't found the time yet? This is it for me. I call it my Backlit Canvas Art and the inspiration piece has been pinned in my "Crafts to try" Pinterest board for ages. My "pin"speration is an artist's piece made from metal that has hand cut flowers all over it. Its backlit by Christmas lights, and I pretty much love it! So I decided to give it a go and create my version. There are two main differences between the two: 1. 2. The idea of the canvas is that during the day (ie. with the Christmas light off) you have a beautiful sculpture while at night (you guessed it, with the Christmas lights on!) How about a tutorial? Supply list Mounted canvas (mine is 10"x10") cardstock to fit on your canvas (mine is 12"x12") stamps ink pad X-acto knife light source* *I wasn't sure if I wanted to use a single bulb or Christmas lights so that is why both are in the above picture. I decided to go with the same flower theme as my inspiration piece.

Glowing Outdoor Orbs O.K. Get ready for it … this one’s a doozy. Doozie? Doosey. It’s a humdinger. It looks high end with a side of huge impact, It costs next to nothing, And even if being “handy” to you means replacing your regular lightbulbs with eco-friendly ones … you’ll be able to do this in 3 minutes flat. Opaque glass shades found at second hand store … Mini Lights from Christmas … Glowing orbs for your garden Want more STUFF like this? Get my posts emailed to you daily. Total Cost: $3 In my attempt to make my backyard a teensy bit more contemporary than my 170 year old house I ran into a few problems. It isn’t gonna be for lighting if I can help it. So while perusing the local second hand store I came across some truly unfortunate stains on the carpet AND these ubiquitous opaque glass shades. Because as you can see, all you have to do is shove some old mini lights in em to create an outdoor light that even a magazine Editor in Chief will comment on. And here’s the best part! at night during the day p.s.

She's at a new site this year and has spent the past week getting it ready for the upcoming schoolyear. We transformed her office from drab to fab, and now all she's missing is some wall art. I saw this online and figured it will work well in a preschool office. Turns out it was the perfect time of year for this project as I was able to get packs of 24 crayons for $0.25 each at a back to school sale! The complete finished product! There are 71 crayons overall (most colors were used 3 times and a few were used 4 times). Turns out it's important to pay attention to the distance you hold the heat gun from the crayons. All melted with a few crayon puddles gathered at the bottom.

House of Smith's: Hanging Roses Flower Ball Tutorial I was browsing blogs a couple weeks back and found a post about these great hand made crepe paper roses on this cute scrapbooking blog! Homespun with Heart The second I saw them I KNEW what I was gonna do! I have had these Styrofoam ball forms for a while now, and thought I would do cute flowers all over them, and hang them in the twins' room. But sadly, the flower idea was pretty expensive. Especially because I wanted to do three of them. SO I thought this was a great, thrifty alternative! And I LOVE how they turned out! Here's what you'll need: Styrofoam ball forms Crepe paper streamers in whatever colors you choose LOTS of hot glue sticks and a glue gun a roll of tape and a measuring stick I measured my crepe paper strips at 24 inches, and ripped a BUNCH at that length, so I wouldn't have to keep stopping, to rip more Once that was done... and my glue gun was nice and hot, I started in on my flower makin'! First I crumpled the strips up, to make them softer and more fabric looking... Easy-peezy!
