Cake Batter Martinis

Cake Batter Martinis
This has my name alllll over it. I know I just shared a big, fuzzy drink with you yesterday but before you go voting me off the island, hear me out. I.couldn’t.help.it. I teased you about it last week and couldn’t wait another day to share! So here’s the deal. This obviously doesn’t fit that bill… but can you blame me? I have no issue running to the grocery store and spending major bucks to create a recipe to tell you about… however, I just can’t justify dropping a benny at the liquor store for one outlandish drink that I may sip once a year. [And really, while we're in the circle of trust here I will tell you that I searched high and low (read: 5 different liquor stores) for this cake-flavored vodka. I highly suggest buying the whipped cream vodka because, um… well hello? K. I’ll be honest: I didn’t have high expectations for this drink. Cake Batter Martinis adapted from grin and bake it makes a single serving, is easily multiplied 1 ounce amaretto 1 1/2 ounces Pinnacle whipped cream vodka

Caramel Apple Jello Shots [With Real Apples] Can you believe I actually spend time trying to figure out what kinds of food could be used as a vessel for jello shots? I'm not a lush I swear ... although my blog would have you totally fooled. It's just that, after filling lemons, limes, oranges and strawberries with vodka infused jello, I knew there had to be something else ... So we tried apples... and guess what? (If you wanted something with a little bit more alcohol content you could always try them out with Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka instead of butterscotch schnapps) Or for a kid friendly, non-alcoholic version just use cold water mixed with two tablespoons of caramel syrup instead of butterscotch schnapps or vodka! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Homemade Mocha Coconut Iced Coffees Let me tell you something. When I was a freshman in college, I once ventured to Starbucks. This wasn’t a frequent happening because 1. One night my friends and I somehow hitched a ride (not literally, but you know) to Starbucks and that’s when I saw it on the menu: mocha coconut frappuccino. I.almost.died. Two of my FAVORITE ingredients combined?! I ordered one. I sipped. I almost fainted. I slurped it to the bottom. I almost wet myself from excitement. I literally almost wet myself from drinking 48 ounces of diuretics and sugar. I became poor. [I should also mention that this was the same year I bought a $98 sparkly black belt with my dad's credit card. Starbucks became my new favorite place. Until one day I walked in and… it was off the menu. What the what?! Imagine my delight when my cousin told me last week that she had a mocha coconut frappucinno! Or… just make my own. Just make sure you use a deliciously flavored coffee, such as fudge brownie or macaroon to heighten your experience.

Pumpkin Monkey Bread September 23, 2011 | Print | E-mail | Filed under bread, pumpkin Monkey bread. It’s almost as much fun to say as it is to eat, and with the arrival of autumn, I couldn’t stop thinking about taking my usual recipe and kicking it up a notch with the addition of pumpkin – so, of course, I did. Making monkey bread has always brought with it feelings of nostalgia for me, which makes it one of my favorite sweets to share with family and friends. In fact, the day after I made it, I invited a good friend over so that I could share it with her, along with some apple cider – a lovely way to spend an autumn afternoon, if you ask me! Chicken Noodle Casserole Recipe This chicken noodle casserole is yet another delicious casserole that I made recently. I never seem to get tired of casserole recipes. They are so easy to prepare and the variety of things you can turn into a casserole is nearly endless. This casserole combines cooked chicken, with egg noodles and a creamy sauce mixture. The sauce combines two different types of condensed soups; cream of mushroom and cream of chicken. Ingredients: 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 2 tablespoons oil (for frying) 6 ounces egg noodles 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 (10-75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 cup sour cream salt and black pepper (to taste) 1-2 cups shredded Colby jack cheese 1 cup crumbled buttery round crackers ½ cup butter Cooking Instructions: Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Peanut Butter S’more Brownies | the vegetarian ginger Love s’mores? Me too. I made these for my friend’s birthday and just cut them up into squares instead of baking a birthday cake. I’m personally not a huge fan of just plain ol’ cake, so these were a major upgrade. These brownies are pretty easy except beware of burning your marshmallows. Cutting them into squares is a little tricky because the marshmallows are so sticky, so I’d wait until they have cooled down a little then take a sharp knife and very lightly grease it with vegetable oil. Over the summer I made a s’more that used chocolate chip cookies instead of graham crackers, I put peanut butter on the cookies, then had melty chocolate and marshmallows on the inside. Ingredients 1 450g box of brownie mix, prepare batter but do not pour into pan or bake yet3 tbsp. peanut butter, melted22 graham crackers1/4 cup butter, melted1 1/2 cups vegan mini marshmallows1 100g milk chocolate barGraham crackers chunks for toppings (optional)Extra melted chocolate for topping (optional) Method

Strawberry Margarita Jell-O Shots When thinking of Super Bowl foods strawberries don't usually make the cut. However... mix the strawberries with a little tequila and turn them into a margarita and you are getting closer! With our sunny Citrus Blush already mixed and in the pitcher we weren't really in need of another cocktail, but when I came across these cute little shots I couldn't resist putting them on my Super Bowl Extravaganza Table. Hollowed out strawberries work as a vehicle for a Jell-0 concoction of strawberry gelatin, tequila and a touch of Grand Marnier. Strawberry season here in San Diego is a tad behind schedule and I had a bit of trouble finding those beautiful, plump and bright red berries, but we made do with the Farmer's Market offerings and found some that were good enough. The gelatin is mixed with water, 4 oz of tequila and 2 oz of Grand Marnier. Edited 2/10/11: Tamera, in the comment section below, suggests using all liquor in the gelatin mix, no water.

And Now for Something Completely Delicious: Peach Sangria Sorbet For me, this is the Summer of Sangria. I cannot get enough. It seems every weekend I’m pouring some wine, whatever liqueur I have on hand, and some fruit together in a pitcher, either to share with friends or enjoy with my husband. A glass of chilled sangria out on our deck in the evening is my new favorite thing. I have to give some credit to Tina of My Life as a Mrs. whose sangria recipe essentially started this whole thing. I love a traditional red wine sangria, but I’ve found that white wine works just as well. With sangria on my mind so much recently, it was only a matter of time before I thought to turn it into a frozen dessert. I created this recipe with the hope that it really would be a scoop-able form of the beverage, and before being poured into my ice cream machine, I gladly would have drank it up. Peach Sangria Sorbet Makes approximately 1 quartPrint this recipe Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. *I used dry Riesling.

Dulce de Leche Brownies Dulce de Leche Brownies At seven o’clock last night I had a chocolate craving. I approach the pantry and see a can of Dulce de Leche and instantly think caramel brownies. I have been wanting to try a new brownie so I did a quick Google search and found these babies. If you aren’t familiar with Dulce de Leche it is basically caramel, like caramelized sweetened condensed milk (I can eat it straight out of the can). Dulce de Leche Brownies Adapted from The Sweet Life in Paris (Broadway Books) David Lebovitz Ingredients: 8 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter, cut into pieces 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped 1/4 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder 3 large eggs 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup flour optional: 1 cup toasted pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped 1 cup Dulce de Leche Cooking Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8-inch square baking dish with a sheet aluminum foil that covers the bottom up over the sides. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes. Enjoy!

Birthday Cake Jello Shots About a month ago, my Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shot Glasses were featured on reddit.com, spiking the number of visits to my blog that day, and also gaining some very interesting comments. This one particularly stood out: “I love how this blog is mostly gorgeous baked goods – but every now and then she makes variations of shots – I’m picturing a young Martha Stewart who is periodically DRUNK OUT OF HER SKULL with fruit on her face”. I’m here today to tell you that my skull is fully intact and while I do enjoy the indulgence of alcohol every now and then, I at least have the decency to clean my face :) But seriously, I do like to have fun incorporating alcohol into my desserts for special occasions with friends, especially for a birthday party! This time around it was my friend Alyssa’s 24th and I didn’t want to let her down after last year’s Caramel Frappacino Cupcakes… Print Recipe Save Recipe Birthday Cake Jello Shots Yield: 30 small jello shots Ingredients: Directions:
