40+ Interesting Pinterest Boards for Designers Only recently, the startup social pinboard site Pinterest, has taken the social bookmarking scene by storm as it earned its fame as the fastest growing social networking site. Since then, Pinterest continues to grow and now it hold a #45 Alexa ranking making popular social bookmark sites like digg.com, delicious.com, stumbleupon.com look like they had better days (see screenshot from Alexa at the bottom). This soaring popularity of Pinterest has caught the attention of designers and other creative individuals, and in no time, the virtual pinboard became popular among the design community. One reason for this is the simple yet powerful Pinterest interface and how great it is for structuring work, ideas, inspiration etc. and at the same time build an online portfolio to show of some creative juice.

Breathtaking Black and White Landscape Photography This is a collection of Black and White photos of nature landscapes. Many people think that nature cannot look as breathtaking as it does in colored pictures. I made this post to prove them wrong. Nature can look even better if the photographer knows how to shoot it. And as you know, many photography awards only accept Black and White photographs for nominations. Some people would disagree with me but I believe that a colored picture cannot carry as much emotion as much a Black and White photo can.

Department of Records - Luna The New York City Department of Records and Information Services announced the addition of 30,000 photographs to its on-line gallery. Some of the more unusual images from this series depict political groups monitored by the New York City Police Department's "Alien Squad." These photos range from Communist Party rallies in Madison Square Garden to the Nazi summer retreat in Yaphank, Long Island run by the German American Bund. To celebrate Earth Day—which today received the ultimate Internet accolade, a Google Doodle—National Geographic photo editors selected 20 of the most stunning pictures of Earth, as seen from space, including this jewel-toned shot of the island country off the African coast. Captured in 2000 by a NASA satellite, the scene shows where the salty waters of the Mozambique Channel mingle with freshwater outflow from the island's Betsiboka River. Bombetoka Bay is home to some of Madagascar's largest mangrove forests, which provide shelter for diverse mollusks and crustaceans as well as habitat for sea turtles, water birds, and dugongs.
