But what exactly is bullying? Bullying is when someone, or a group of people, repeatedly and intentionally hurt another person or people. It can take different forms. Bullies often do this to gain a sense of power over the person they are bullying, who is made to feel sad, scared or alone. It often starts when people pick on something about someone that's different.

Her father, Tick Everett, described his grief on social media this week, saying his beloved daughter felt she had no other option. “I know for some suicide is considered cowardly but I guarantee those people wouldn’t have half the strength that my precious little angel had, Doll had the strength to do what she thought she had to do to escape the evil in this world,” he wrote on Facebook. “However, unfortunately, Dolly will never know the great pain and emptiness left behind. Tick Everett said his daughter’s death would not be wasted if the family could help to prevent the suffering of others. “Let’s stop the bullies no matter where, but especially in our kids, as the old saying goes. L'association britannique PAPYRUS - Prevention of the Young Suicide ("prévention du suicide des jeunes") a diffusé, mardi 6 février, une campagne publicitaire de prévention contre le cyber-harcèlement et le suicide chez les adolescents, comme l'a repéré The Huffpost. La scène paraît anodine. Une mère lit une histoire à sa fille le soir. Mais au lieu de jolis contes, les mots sont très durs : "Tes cheveux ont toujours l'air gras", "Tu es grosse", "Faible", "Tu n'as pas d'amis". "Les réseaux sociaux peuvent avoir une influence très positive sur la vie des utilisateurs, mais il est temps de rappeler aux parents les aspects les plus sinistres de certaines activités virtuelles de nos enfants et, malheureusement, ce qu'ils se disent entre eux sur internet", explique un porte-parole de l'association.
