The Hunger Games - March 23, 2012 - May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

"The Hunger Games" Viral Campaign Heats Up Lionsgate has just rolled out the second phase in its new viral campaign for the upcoming film, The Hunger Games. The studio launched the first teaser trailer for the film — which is based on a trilogy of books — at the MTV VMAs on Sunday. At the end of the trailer was a hashtag: #whatsmydistrict. Twitter user @@TheCapitolPN responded to users on Twitter and the website, thecapitol.pn was eventually revealed. Over the last few days, that site has shown a fading image that has become more and more clear. That stage starts now. Viral campaigns for movies are nothing new, but we're impressed with the intricate lengths Lionsgate is going to promote this title. The Hunger Games doesn't hit theaters until March 23, 2012 but this type of viral promotion could help make the film a bigger draw next spring.

Hunger Games: Perfect Example of Why Socialism Doesnât Work Welcome! We are so glad you are here! Please consider supporting this site by whitelisting PatriotUpdate.com in your adblocker. When my son was in junior high school I read all of his Harry Potter books. I was hooked and have since read every volume of the vampire/werewolf series. So when my mother insisted I read Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games I thought it would be yet another fun, meaningless teen angst-type stories. In Ameritopia, Levin talks about a utopian dream world in which people are grouped together according to whatever they excel in. Socialism is the entire premise of the Hunger Games. Just like Levin described in Ameritopia, everyone in Collin’s books are divided up according to their unique gifts and talents; the best of the best are able to eat, the lower classes usually starve to death providing food and goods for everyone else. It never balances out. THIS is the end results of that “leveled playing field” the Occupiers are so enamored with.

Hunger Games Trailer (No. 1 Hunger Games Part. II - The Journey There were so many comments, emails, and discussion surrounding the Hunger Games Article yesterday, I thought I might take a second to answer some questions brought on by a couple of readers. Here are a few points I read yesterday that continue to make sense as we try to understand why the Hunger Games has become such a phenomenon. 1. The concept of Oppression There's no doubt Suzane Collins wrote about a time when the Rich were Rich, and the poor were under the oppressors thumb. 2. In the book Katniss and Peeta are two characters that make it known they'll do the games how they want to do the games. Again, this is a noble idea, but don't try to lean into the spiritual here. 3. I don't think there's any way around the idea of feeling the pain of loss, identity issues, and death with teenagers in today's culture. It's been a great discussion on all fronts. Yesterday was one of the all time most viewed articles here at andybraner.com.

02.22.2010 - An afternoon nap markedly boosts the brain’s learning capacity If you see a student dozing in the library or a co-worker catching 40 winks in her cubicle, don’t roll your eyes. New research from the University of California, Berkeley, shows that an hour’s nap can dramatically boost and restore your brain power. Indeed, the findings suggest that a biphasic sleep schedule not only refreshes the mind, but can make you smarter. Students who napped (green column) did markedly better in memorizing tests than their no-nap counterparts. Conversely, the more hours we spend awake, the more sluggish our minds become, according to the findings. “Sleep not only rights the wrong of prolonged wakefulness but, at a neurocognitive level, it moves you beyond where you were before you took a nap,” said Matthew Walker, an assistant professor of psychology at UC Berkeley and the lead investigator of these studies. In the recent UC Berkeley sleep study, 39 healthy young adults were divided into two groups — nap and no-nap.
