Create Your “Hokusai” Japanese Art Online « JAPAN Style Published Oct 8th, 2010 I want to introduce this interesting browser tool that you can make HokusaiW like Japanese wood prints! It is called Hokusai Manga Construction Kit. It is quite simple. You select some cut-out images and stamp on a blank page. To play with this tool, click “Hokusai Manga Construction Kit” (c) S-air Bjoern Karnebogen You will see this page. And, START. You can pick cut-out images from “Men/Women/Animal/Scenes/Objects.” ① Send to Friend ② Register the work on Gallery (I don’t recommend it because of error) ③ See Gallery (Nothing seem to be there) ④ Print ⑤ Delete You can change the color and size, flip it horizontal, and delete it. ② Register the work on Gallery (I don’t think it works though…) I have to admit, it gets bugged sometimes, but the tool is simple and pretty playable! It will be perfect to make greeting cards and letter sets. This is JAPAN Style!

The 2012 Olympics are taking place from the 27th July to 12 August this year and lots of schools are planning Olympics-themed lessons next term. So, I’ve listed a number of resources that can be used below: 1) The official Olympic and London 2012 sites have lots of information, statistics and resources that schools can use. The London 2012 site also has a special ‘Get Set’ collection of resources that form part of the official education programme. 2) Simon Haughton has started a great collaborative document that lists ideas and resources for using the Olympics in different subject areas. 3) TPet have created lots of Olympics resources, including certificates, banners, countdown boards and posters about the Ancient Olympics. 4) The fantastic Porchester Junior School have created a special playlist of Youtube videos that show the history of the Games. 5) Ch-arted are offering free Olympics cartoons, activities and fact files that can be downloaded once you register on their site (for free).

2. 3. Anche questo è un olio su tela.

Origami Simulator This app uses a compliant dynamic simulation method to solve for the geometry of an origami pattern at a given fold angle. The simulation sets up several types of constraints: distance constraints prevent the sheet from stretching or compressing, face constraints prevent the sheet from shearing, and angular constraints fold or flatten the sheet. Each of these constraints is weighted by a stiffness - the stiffer the constraint, the better it is enforced in the simulation. Axial Stiffness is the stiffness of the distance constraints. Increasing axial stiffness will decrease the stretching/compression (strain) in the simulation, but it will also slow down the solver. Fold and facet stiffnesses correspond to two types of angular constraints. Internally, constraint stiffnesses are scaled by the length of the edge associated with that constraint to determine its geometric stiffness.
