Classroom 2.0 Guidelines for better PowerPoints - 180 Free Technology Tip #16 Technology Tip Number 16 Improving Your PowerPoint's These days most students do at least one PowerPoint presentation in elementary school. As you might expect, they utilize just about every annoying sound effect, nauseating background color and dizzying animation feature imaginable to make their first slideshow. Here are some very reasonable guidelines for PowerPoint Presentations (they are the same ones we stress for 7th graders for reference): 1) Use the same background for all the slides. 3) Use one good picture or graphic per slide. 4) Minimum of 32 pts for the font size. 5) Maximum of 5 lines of text per slide. 6) Please don’t read the slides to your audience. Featured YouTube Video: A 4 minute video on the importance of not reading your slides. 7) Check your spelling and grammar. 8) Use good presentation skills. For you social studies teachers out there, here’s a hypothetical version of the Gettysburg Address done by Abraham Lincoln using PowerPoint. Have a Nice Day!
