The Perfect Mermaid Curls Although “perfect” is a relative term, this method for curling hair is pretty much perfect by my standards, mostly because it isn’t fussy. While I’m a sucker for both ringlets and Californian waves, I like my own curls somewhere in between: relaxed but bouncy. Mermaid-like. Supplies: 1″ curling iron, brush, and hair sprayTime: 45 minutes (for thick hair) All of the magic happens with Revlon’s “Helen of Troy” ceramic 1″ curling iron. For hairspray, I’m a fan of Tigi’s Hard Head, which has a strong hold without the severe crunchiness. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Repeat this around your entire head. Don’t get lazy with the back of your head! Et voilà! Keywords: wavy hair tutorial, curly hair tutorial, curling iron tutorial

Out of the ordinary Beauty Tips that work | Cher Cabulas Mindbox - StumbleUpon Use toothpaste on yellow nails. This usually happens when you let nail polish stay on your nails for very long and when you’ve used cheap nail polish. Whiten them all up by rubbing toothpaste to remove the stains. You can also add a few drops of lemon for extra whitening, it’s a natural bleaching agent. See other uses of lemon with this POST. Use suntan oil to treat damaged hair. Treat burns with milk. Powder Your Roots If by any chance you have no chance to jump into the shower and you need to look your best. Cure Calluses with Vaseline or petroleum jelly It’s very unsightly to see hard calluses on your feet especially when you’ve been wearing closed shoes for a long time. Spot-Treat Smudges I find cotton tips very usual for this. Super-Glue a Nail Yikes! Buff with Baking Soda I’ve laughed at that episode in Friends when Ross went to a self-tanning sauna and got disastrous results. Use Toothpaste on a Zit Use just a pea-size amount. The Sock Bun Is Your Hair’s New Best Friend (VIDEO) If you have medium-length or long hair, I have two words that are going to change your life: sock bun. I thought this was just something that a mom in my daughter's dance class had made up to get her little girl's hair into the best bun ever, but then I started hearing more and more murmurings about it. Soon, I realized that all of those celebrities I see with the perfectly coiffed dos I thought my thin hair could never hold really have a secret weapon -- a sock. Just an ordinary, everyday sock -- and it makes all the difference in the world. Here's the sock bun in five easy steps: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Done! If you're a visual person, here's a great video from Hello Giggles that shows you how to do it step-by-step and just how cute it can be. Did I tell you it was easy? Will you wear the sock bun? Sea of Shoes: HAIR HOW-TO - StumbleUpon I am sometimes asked how I style my hair, and while my method is far from perfect, I thought I'd show you how! My hair is pretty straight and fine naturally and I always let it air dry. Since I go about three days between washes, I like to curl it on the first day and let it mellow out into some nice waves over the next two. Let's get started! If your hair doesn't hold curl very well then you may want to put a palmful of curling mousse in it when it is halfway dry. (though I want to upgrade to one of the fancy new ones from Sultra soon!) When I'm done curling the bottom section, I mist it with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode and comb through the curl with my fingers. Ahh!! If you want to dress it up a little, you can do a braided headband look! Find a spot on the opposite side of your head and pin it so that it blends in naturally with the rest of your hairstyle. Well, that's it!
