Wedding Blog: S'mores Bar Desserts Today, many brides and grooms are incorporating more of their own personal style into their wedding day. Many couples feel if they are going to spend thousands of dollars on this day, it should be one that they will enjoy and one that is filled with all things that they enjoy. So, when I ran across the idea of having a S’mores Bar during a wedding reception, I immediately fell head over heels in love … It is such a warm, family friendly idea (reminds me of the times spent telling stories around the campfire). photo credit: ellybevents.comPin it You can now see a s’mores bar literally on a bar set in rocks with burners serving as your flame source. photo credit: ellybevents.comPin it photo credit: ellybevents.comPin it There are many variations to the contemporary s’mores bar … whichever display you decide, remember the most important part is offering your guests a fun way to enjoy making their own s’mores. photo credit: 100percentcottam-austin.blogspot.comPin it

*Simply Scratch*: Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños I have three words for you… BACON….WRAPPED….Jalapeños! Have you heard of any three words that sound more delicious than that?? And as much as I would love to take credit for this recipe, I can’t. This isn’t an original recipe… but it’s a darn great one! I made these along with the Bacon Wrapped Pineapple {I must have been craving bacon eh?} Jalapeños… I love them pickled, in my salsa, in my dips and baked… with trucks full of cream cheese! You’re gonna need bacon, jalapeños and 2 bricks of cream cheese… and maybe an oven. Oh and maybe some toothpicks too, which I never seem to have! You need about 20 or so jalapeños. I can’t stress enough about wearing gloves… WEAR THEM!!! Then place them in a bowl. See my husband is way tougher than me, he didn’t wear gloves {show off}… but since I did like 10 to his one… I did. He didn’t cry… but I did… from laughing. If you like them a little hot… you could leave a little of the rib {white membrane) attached. Fill each jalapeño with cream cheese.

Scanpan 32cm IQ Frying Pan – RRP $310With just a week to go till the competition closes, all you need to do is show me a picture of your battered frying pan that needs replacing! Visit this post for more information Two years ago, I started developing a recipe for peanut butter cupcakes. Not using an essence or anything like that, but just as a sort of challenge. I got the recipe to a point where I was fairly happy with it. They still weren’t perfect. So I told myself that I would continue to work on the recipe, tweaking it to the point where it would be where I wanted it to be. You see, in my opinion a cupcake should be light, fluffy and resemble a sponge in terms of texture. And then a week rolled by. Then last month, I received an email from the RSPCA reminding me that RSPCA Cupcake Day was just around the corner! Then I took notes, made a few more tweaks and tested the recipe again. 1.

DIY Bridesmaids Cards | DIY Wedding Blog I love the idea of formally asking those whom you would like to be in your bridal party. I sent out a cards for my own wedding so that inspired me to come up with a cute project to do the same. I adore the paper chain people that we all learned to make in grade school and this project uses that simple concept to introduce your bridesmaids to everyone. Cut out the shape of the dress you plan on using in the color you desire and personalize each person with some paper hair. To complete the set I created a little card asking “Will you be my bridesmaid?” and included the wedding details as well as how and where to order the dresses. Enjoy! Anna of Rifle Design Supplies: 1. craft paper (for clothes & hair), 2. paper for bodies, 3. envelopes, 4. ruler, 5. scissors, 6. pencil, eraser & a glue stick Directions: First, be sure that your chain will fit in the envelope you chose. Cut out your rectangle and score the paper vertically between each set of tick marks. Resources:

Homemade Snickers Bars | How Sweet It Is - StumbleUpon Insanity. That’s what this is. Pure In.San.It.TEEEEE. You know those days when you’re in desperate need of sugar and you’ve already downed more gummy vitamins than recommended while seriously considering how many more you can ingest without causing severe harm to your internal organs? They’re just so gooooood. Well… in that case you should make some homemade snickers bars. And I KNOW you know what I’m talking about. I spent the majority of my pre-pubescent and adolescent years scheming just how I would be able to steal my brothers’ Halloween candy. Then I went through a SERIOUS phase of those Snickers ice cream bars. And that you can eat a million of them. These days, it’s rare that I crave actual candy, often preferring some chewy cookies or super rich cheesecake or a bar of amazing chocolate that costs thrice as much as the recent organic meyer lemons I purchased. They are the peanut butter to my jelly. The salt to my pepper. The broccoli to my… wait, no. And the fabulous part? nougat layer

Chocolate Malted & Toasted-Marshmallow Layer Cake - Semisweetie, A geeky baking and recipe blog - StumbleUpon Recipe: Sweetapolita's Campfire Delight Total time: 4 hours Ease: Intermediate Unusual ingredients: malted milk powder, whipping cream, marshmallows, marshmallow fluff, unsweetened cocoa powder, coffee Marshmallows. Malt. Heavenly moist chocolate cake. Thus was my Saturday. I knew this was going to be a time investment. The cakes themselves were perfect. Toasting the marshmallows was easy in the oven, but when I added them to the mixture of fluff, butter and icing sugar, things got quite a bit messy! The chocolate malted frosting is absolutely delightful.
