Pimax: The World's First 8K VR Headset by Pimax 8K VR Risks and challenges Manufacturing is not an issue, as we have delivered over 30K Pimax 4K headsets globally in half a year. For our Pimax 8K, we will use the Fresnel lens (2nd generation) without any supply issue. We are in the stages of finalizing the solution for positional tracking, and as such it may delay the shipping time of rewards that include positional tracking. To overcome this we have come up with multiple positional tracking options, and we are seeking support and partnerships. Refresh Rate - The display panel supports 90Hz according to it's specification, and it has proven a stable 90Hz in another project. But the stability is much important because our HMD should work out of the lab in thousands of computers condition. Native resolution and frame rate per eye base on latest DP V3 prototype: We will keep updating the progress. How to control a video by mouse scroll? Infographic – Virtual Reality Surging Into the Classroom – Touchstone Research Virtual Reality is being used in classrooms now more than ever. One quarter of the schools are already using VR, and this number is continuing to grow. While most teachers are aware of VR, over three quarters of teachers have never used it in a school environment before and many agree that VR would definitely be a benefit in subjects such as science, history, and the arts and design. Only about a quarter of US schools use VR tech at the moment, and 40% aren’t sure they’ll use it in the future. But with every benefit, there are some drawbacks. Below is the infographic by Extreme:

Windows Mixed Reality: What is it and which headsets are availa Over the past few years, we've seen an increase in the conversation around breaking content and experiences out from a device's display, and into a new world of perception and interactivity. Virtual reality is something that we are familiar with, thanks to devices like Google Cardboard at the very simple end of the scale, through to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive at the top of the experience. Microsoft made a lot of noise around its holographic augmented reality system - HoloLens - before moving into a more mainstream position with a new wave of "mixed reality" devices. But what is mixed reality and when can you get your hands on it? In some ways, the notion of "mixed reality" is a way to frame Microsoft's VR arrangement in a different position to those already on the market. This is, in essence, a fusion of VR and AR. Just for clarification, here are some definitions of these three systems at a very basic level: Microsoft HoloLens preview: An augmented vision that's still very much in the future

HTC Vive vs. Oculus Rift vs. Windows Mixed Reality The fierce competition between the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets has been heating up ever more in 2018, with rampant price drops and the arrival of the much-improved HTC Vive Pro. These virtual reality platforms all run on headsets connected to a PC. The software has plenty of overlap, the hardware is of similar heft, and the overarching concepts all involve playing around in room-scale, virtual worlds. But each VR solution has its own share of technical and philosophical differences, diverging from competitors in several key ways. Here is our attempt at explaining all those similarities and differences between the HTC Vive (and Vive Pro), Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets in the least confusing way possible. Editor’s note: This article was last updated to mention the Oculus Quest. Vive vs. Adam Patrick Murray For $499, the HTC Vive includes a headset, a pair of hand-tracking controllers, and a pair of wireless base stations. Vive vs. Oculus Acer
