gift tag no. 3 - popsicle sticks
Here is a new gift tag/gift decor project for the series that I'm creating because of the holiday season. I didn't use any paper for this one. I'm trying to use what I have so this version is using a tiny part of my popsicle sticks stash. The design is fairly simple - one stick to use for a holiday message, another for "FROM" and the last one for the "TO" information.

Since the busiest gift giving season will soon be upon us (whether we want to believe it or not) I decided to create a set that shows you how to combine different tools to make gift embellishments and a card idea. Keep in mind that the flower idea can be made with many colors and even be a useful way to use small scraps (you know I enjoy those projects). Tutorial: Anthropologie Inspired Fabric Letters
Here's what you'll need: -The letters: I bought the cardboard letters from Joann's. I'm sure you could get them at hobby lobby too. -A hot glue gun and LOTS of hot glue sticks -Scotch Tape: in case your fingers get tired of being burned by the hot glue- opt for the tape. :) -Fabric: I just used some scraps I had left over from past projects and I bought a couple of fat quarters from Joann's.
Woven paracord bracelet/watchband
For this project, you'll need approximately 10 feet of paracord, scissors, lighter, tape measure, hemostats, watch, and a 5/8" side release buckle. I used a 5/8" ITW Nexus contoured side release buckle, but you can use other less expensive ones like those found at Creative Designworks. Paracord can be found at local Army/Navy stores or from various online sources: Supply Captain, Lighthound, Cool Glow Stuff!

Rosette Bracelet Tutorial!

How To Mix Chalkboard Paint in Any Color
We love using chalkboards as backdrops for displays and parties (like this one here!). So we were super excited to learn that you can create your own custom colors-and it's really easy! We first learned how from Martha Stewart whose tutorial you can read here. She recommends that you use latex paint, but we tried it out with acrylic paints with much success.
