Revisiting the Granny Mandala….

Revisiting the Granny Mandala….
Helloooooo!!!!!! I hope you’re all having a fabulous week!! I certainly am and it is very much due to the amazing and beautiful sunny weather we are STILL having! It seems that summer has arrived early and it is just the best! I’m pleased to announce that my creative slump is officially over! I noticed that today as I was leaving the house for work, I had an urge ‘make’ which I am sure was directly related to the fact that I couldn’t! I’ve been contemplating my Granny Circles for a while now, and decided that it is time to re-do that tutorial, as since I first had a play with making the circle back in August, I’ve learned a few new techniques and stitches, and I like the way I’ve been doing the centres lately much more… they’re not as ‘squished,’ so I decided to do up a brand spanking new tutorial! Soooooooooooooo………. Rounds 1-3! Yes! OK… let’s make our first round of increases….. Rounds 6&7: No increases in these rounds, just repeat rounds 3 & 4 Mandala-rific! Like this: Like Loading... free pattern: spoke mandala - a creative being Hurray, free pattern day! :) So many of you were interested in the pattern for this mandala, that I decided to write it down for you all. The people have spoken! This pattern uses US terms and abbreviations. For a conversion chart to UK terms, look here. What do you need: yarn (I used Drops Paris cotton yarn by Garnstudio)a matching crochet hook (I used a 4mm Clover hook)a Tunisian crochet hook in the same size (so for me a 4mm Tunisian hook)a darning needle to sew in the endsa pair of scissors If you don’t have a Tunisian hook, you could also use a regular steel hook. Here we go! 1. Chain 2, and make 11 dc’s in the ring. Cut the yarn and pull through the loop on your hook, and pull the ring closed to make a circle. Thread the yarn end through the needle and insert in the first dc you made, through both loops, skipping the ch2. Pull the needle through and now insert it in the back loop of the last stitch you made. 2. Crochet 2 dc’s in every stitch, back loops only! Good job! 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

D'autres photos vont suivre... Quand je glande pas, je glane ! Comme ici... Et pour faire quoi ? Plaid

Magic Spike Mandala Square - 12" Afghan Block A mandala… square? Yes! I recently had a request come in asking me to turn the Magic Spike Mandala into an afghan square. I thought it was a great idea ( particularly for such a busy week). Here’s the result – the Magic Spike Mandala Square! The Magic Spike Mandala Square is a 12″ x 12″ afghan block that retains the look of the original mandala but is decidedly blanket-friendly. Fair Isle Mandala Pattern and pictures As promised the Mandala Pattern Before I start, there is a couple of things you need to know when working POST STITCH in the round, SOME TIMES I have used the post stitch as an increase stitch but mostly it is a replacement stitch. 4mm hook and Cotton DK. The pattern is quite long and detailed, so I am splitting it into three posts today and tomorrow for the front and the back on Monday. Meditation Workshop beckycafe crochet I recently saw a similar mandala from a German crochet artist and created this tutorial. I am crazy about these colors, and am so pleased at how it turned out. I've just painted a 12 x 12 inch canvas to mount the mandala on so that it can be a piece of crochet wall art! This is my first attempt at a tutorial, so please feel free to comment or question if something doesn't make sense. I'm using US terms. Here goes . . . Create a magic ring, there are lots of great tutorials on the web so I didn't take photos - just google. Round 1: ch 3 (this counts as first dc) then 1 dc, ch 2, then 2 dc. Round 2: slip stitch into the first ch 2 space, ch 3 (counts as frist dc), then 2 dc, chain 2, then 3dc. Round 3: change color, join in any ch 2 space, ch 3 (counts as first dc) 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1, then in next space, 3dc,ch 2, 3 dc (you are stitching 3 double crochet cluster, chain 2, 3 dc cluster in each space around, totaling 6). Lissou et les couleurs - Bricoleuse et touche à tout, je partage sur ce blog mes essais et mes tutos pour la rénovation de meubles, la déco, le bricolage, la mosaïque, le tricot... Little Spring Mandala Pattern: Made in K-Town by Barbara Please respect my rights as designer: do not sell, share, translate, or publish any parts of my patterns (including pictures) online or elsewhere without my permission. Do not claim this pattern as your own. Material: As usual, I used small amounts of Catania by Schachenmayer and a 2.5mm hook. Some general notes: For this pattern I use US crochet terms. I did NOT write down the chains at the beginning of each round: for the first stitch in every round, work chains (e.g. 3 chains for the first dc) OR start with a “standing stitch” i.e. join the new color with a slip knot or a simple loop ON YOUR HOOK and just work the first sc or dc as usual. I hope I haven't lost you already :) Here we go: 1st Round: start with a magic ring and work (1dc, ch1) 12x inside the ring, fasten off (12 ch1-spaces) 2nd Round (new color): work (1sc, ch2) in every ch1-space, fasten off (12 ch2-spaces) 4th Round (new color): work 4 dc in every ch3-space, fasten off (48 dc, no spaces!)
