The Future of Twitter - 10 Ways Twitter Will Change American Bus Microblogging platform Twitter has 32 million users, an increase from about 2 million a year ago, according to research mentioned in the Wall Street Journal. Some Internet measurement services show that figure increasing 50% to 100% month over month. While it is not clear that Twitter will become as large as social networks MySpace and Facebook or video-sharing site YouTube, the company could certainly have 50 million visitors by the end of the year. Because Twitter can be used with ease on both PCs and mobile devices, and because it limits users to very short messages of 140 characters or fewer, it has become one of the largest platforms in the world for sharing real-time data. As Twitter grows, it will increasingly become a place where companies build brands, do research, send information to customers, conduct e-commerce and create communities for their users. — Douglas A. 9 Ways to Make Android automatic with Tasker Tasker is the ultimate Android app. It creates profiles to automatically change settings, delivers shortcuts, helps manage daily activities, and automates many of the mundane tasks that you attempt to perform each day. All without much effort (other than set-up process). Tasker uses “contexts” to trigger tasks or setting changes. A context could be something as simple as the day of the week, a headset being plugged in, having a certain battery percentage, or entering a certain location. Once a context takes place, it triggers an action like turning off auto-sync, loading Pandora, or sending a text message to your girlfriend to let her know you’re 5 minutes away. Locale was the first automated app that Android users embraced, but many turned sour once the app began charging money for add-ons and actually became less useful. Set Periodic AutoSyncs AutoSync is great for keeping you up to date, but not for conserving battery. Open Media apps list when headset plugged in Create settings widgets

Google Wave: Our First Hands-On Impressions When Google Wave made its public debut last week, it created quite a stir, but without being able to get a hands-on look at the product, it was quite hard to really grasp the implications of what Google was trying to do. Today, we got access to Wave, and after testing it for a while, we can confidently say that Google is indeed on to something. The developer sandbox version we have access to is still a bit rough around the edges, and quite a few functions are still unavailable. Just a Preview - Lots More to Come During our test this afternoon, we also got to chat with Jens and Lars Rasmussen, who gave the first official demo last week. Chances are that you have already seen some screenshots or seen the demo on YouTube (more than 1.5 million people have seen it already), but here is a short video of what a wave looks like in action. What is Wave? One thing we immediately noticed is that it takes a little bit to get used to how Wave works. Giving it a Spin Doing the Wave A Few More Thoughts
