Learn About RtoP An Introduction to the Responsibility to Protect Recognizing the failure to adequately respond to the most heinous crimes known to humankind, world leaders made a historic commitment to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity at the United Nations (UN) 2005 World Summit. This commitment, entitled the Responsibility to Protect, stipulates that: 1. 2. 3. Since the end of the Second World War, an international effort has been undertaken to protect civilians in armed conflict and prevent genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. The end of the 20th Century marked a change in the nature of armed conflict: large inter-state wars were replaced by violent internal conflicts, where the vast majority of casualties are now civilians. 1. The timing of this reports' release in December 2001 was devastating to its initial reception. 2. 3. A New Balance of Power at the UN? The UN Security Council has long been criticised as an outdated institution which does not reflect the realities of the modern world. But the five countries that have won non-permanent seats on the council give it a complexion far more in keeping with the global order of the 21st century. Critics have argued the Security Council's structure of five permanant veto-wielding members - the US, UK, France, China and Russia - together with 10 non-permanent members, has concentrated influence in the hands of a small number of countries who were powerful when the body was created in the aftermath of the second world war. But with some of the world's most important emerging economies winning seats on a council that already includes Brazil, a South American powerhouse, and Nigeria, a key African power, the UN's most powerful body looks more representative than ever before. India India returns to the Security Council for the first time since 1992. South Africa Germany Colombia Portugal

3. LM Curve - Macroeconomics Tutor Part 3: LM Curve The LM curve is used to determined equilibrium in the money market. The L stands for liquidity and M for Money. The video covers the demand for money, the supply of money, the LM curve, the factors affecting its slope and position and finally the algebraic formula for the curve. Demand for Money Demand for real money is represented by the letter 'L'. These two variables are moderated by sensitivity coefficients: the income sensitivity of demand for real money and the interest sensitivity of demand for real money. Demand for Money Graph Now we're going to examine this relationship graphically. An increase in the national income results in an upward and outward shift of the demand for money curve. Increase in Interest Sensitivity of Demand for Money An increase in the interest sensitivity for real money reduces the slope of the demand for money curve. h' is higher, meaning the interest sensitivity is higher. Money Supply LM Curve We're ready for the LM curve. Position of LM
» What I’ve Learned About Learning ‘We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself.’ ~Lloyd Alexander Post written by Leo Babauta. I am a teacher and an avid learner, and I’m passionate about both. I’m a teacher because I help Eva homeschool our kids — OK, she does most of the work, but I do help, mostly with math but with everything else too. I’m a lifelong learner and am always obsessively studying something, whether that’s breadmaking or language or wine or chess or writing or fitness. Here’s are two key lessons — both really the same lesson — I’ve learned about learning, in all my years of study and in trying to teach people: Almost everything I’ve learned, I didn’t learn in school; andAlmost everything my students (and kids) have learned, they learned on their own. Those two lessons (or one lesson) have a number of reasons and implications for learning. Why Learning is Independent This is exactly how I learn as an adult, and so I know it works.
Chapters International - Workshop Lester Laminack Digging Into DetailsWe often hear ourselves suggesting to young writers, "add some details".
