Gradient

Gradient
Blend the edges with a fluffy brush in small, circular motions - or just use your finger. Blend the edges into the lighter color. Blend the edges of the darkest color into the medium color - this should look like a seamless gradient. TIP: UD and MAC shadows (along with many others) have amazing pigmentation, but if you can't get the same intensity from your shadow, use a wet brush to apply. Go over the edges with a dry brush and dry shadow to blend. To finish, apply liner and mascara. I paired my eyes with a pinkish nude lip, using MAC Pink Plaid lipstick and a coat of Julie Hewett Biba over it.

Purple eyeshadow Can you achieve a professional looking smoky eye in just two steps, with one product? According to CoverGirl, you can. My mom often says, "I'm from Missouri - the 'Show Me' state." Well, I'm not from Missouri, but I take after my mom. I was skeptical. I'm not against drug store makeup. Makeup - particularly more complex eye looks such as the smoky eye - can be daunting for those with limited experience. There are plenty of gorgeous looks out there that involve just a few steps and very little skill. Taken from the fact sheet:Easily achieve smoky eye perfection - it's almost like having a makeup artist at your fingertips! Two steps? I used the Silver Sky Covergirl Smoky Shadowblast, which has both a silver and purple side, and followed the directions exactly as stated. But alas, even with blending, this certainly leaves a lot to be desired. Note: I used a base underneath to prevent creasing (I read that others had a lot of issues with it). As for the CG Smoky Shadowblast? p.s.

I decided to do a second look with Urban Decay's 15th anniversary eyeshadow collection and since my last look featured its neutral shades, why not go for bigger and bolder color? I paired it with an equally bold lip color - Estée Lauder's new Fuchsia Velvet lipstick - because Robert Palmer's girls would've liked it that way. Brown Eyed Girl Today's look: deep brown eyes with a graded wash and a smudged plum lip. I had major bedhead, so I ran with it and just teased and frizzed my hair. I didn't go out like this; don't worry:) Want to know what I used and how I created this look? 1) MAC Bare Study paint pot, 2) MAC Fix+, 3) MAC Coco pigment, 4) MAC Mulch eyeshadow, 5) MAC Vanilla pigment, 6) MAC Dipdown fluidline, 7) Prescriptives dark brown mascara The first two brushes are for blending: I used the one on the left for blending the darker colors and the second one for blending the vanilla pigment (to avoid a muddied highlight). Eyes: Step one: Using your finger or a brush, apply a base all over your lid, blending up to your brow bone. MAC Porcelain Pink skinfinish (cheeks) and Clinique A Different Grape Lipstick. Cheeks and lips: Apply light pink blush to the apples of your cheeks. The end result should be a dark brown eye that gradually gets lighter toward the brow and an imperfect plum lip. I PLEDGE... - thebeautydepartment.com photo: lilylock.tumblr.com/post design: eunice chun Every single Winter I swear that I’m not going to let my face get dry, irritated and chapped. But life gets in the way, I forget to stay on top of it and before I know it, the corners of my lips are cracked and my chin is so dry and irritated that it even has little rash-like bumps on it! Then I spend the next month trying to turn it around, but the heavy emollient creams strong enough to tackle the chapped skin only inflame and irritate the rash, causing dermatitis and break outs, landing me in my dermatologist’s office, hoping my insurance will cover it!! I will try not to let my scarf or the collar of my coat rub against my chin and cause chaffing.I will try not to take scolding hot showers but warm ones instead. Yes that’s ten promises and seems daunting, but it’ll be so worth it if I can make it through until March without succumbing to the vicious cycle of dry, chapped and rash-covered skin! KKCenterhk blog: Cyber Terminator make up look - Speed tutorial By elenaisred ITA: Ciao! I created this look for a friend of mine who would have done a dance performance at an electronic festival a few days after, she would have liked a cyber look and that's what I came out with: a sort of mix between Terminator and Blade Runner, lol! Black with Green eyeshadow True Blood is over for the season (booooo!), so I decided to pay tribute by doing my own vampy look, partially inspired by Pam, but also by the ubiquitous promotional image. I love a good statement lip, but sometimes I like to break the rules and pair it with dark eyes. On a side note, are my lashes growing yet? I've been using NeuLash for a few weeks now, but I can't tell if it's working or if I'm just making myself believe it is. That whole placebo thing gets me every time. For the photo above, I used MAC Pro Longwear in Alta Moda, with a coat of the Mirror Gloss (it's sparkly and comes with the pro longwear). Love love, Keiko Lynn

Homemade Hair Treatments - At Home DIY Hair Treatments - Womans Day Eggs, yogurt and honey are, at first glance, all components of a tasty breakfast—but they also happen to be hair treatment ingredients, and affordable, all-natural ones at that. And they're not the only ones. Did you know, for instance, that the oils in avocados more closely resemble our own skin's oils than any product in the beauty aisle does? For All Hair Types "The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds," says Janice Cox, author of Natural Beauty at Home. To Use: For normal hair, use the entire egg to condition hair; use egg whites only to treat oily hair; use egg yolks only to moisturize dry, brittle hair, Cox says. Photo by Shutterstock. For Dull Hair Styling products (as well as air pollution) can leave a film that both saps moisture and dulls shine—but dairy products like sour cream and plain yogurt can help reverse this damage. To Use: Massage 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt into damp hair and let sit for 20 minutes. For Itchy Scalp For Limp or Fine Hair For Frizzy Hair

Purple Gaze This is a look best suited for night time, but if you ask Kimberly, any of your local drag queens, or me, you can totally wear this in the daytime. Eff your day/night rules! (This is as rebellious as I get.) The trick is - you guessed it! - blending your shadows, both inward and outward. At night, you might be able to get away with poorly applied shadow, because you're probably in dim light. To see the products and instructions, keep reading! Makeup Notebook, Fun Makeup Tips and Cosmetic Recipes How to Do Your Eye Makeup Correctly How many of us spend hours looking at makeup tutorials on various websites? Or how many of us ask makeup related “how-what-when” questions to the beautician? Well, almost all of us who enjoy makeup! Don't Miss: Easy Video Tutorial to Get the Cannes 2014 Look of Aishwarya Rai A good tip to remember before you start: Light and shimmery colours highlight or “push forward” a feature by adding a ‘pop’ to it. Image Courtesy: trends-style.com To make things simpler, we have divided the eye area into nine parts (see the image above) for you to understand eye makeup better. 1. In the inner corner of your eyes, use a colour that is lighter than your skin tone. 2. For an easy application, you can use a single coloured eyeshadow all the way across the lid area. 3. When applying colour here, start at the outer corner of your eye and create a little 'V' shape, moving up and into your crease. If you think coloured eye liners require a fortune to be spent on, you are wrong. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
