Reclaimed windows and doors form facades of Collage House Old doors and windows, antique wooden columns and metal drainpipes give this house in Mumbai an aesthetic its architects claim is inspired by the ramshackle buildings found throughout the city (+ slideshow). Local studio S+PS Architects designed Collage House to accommodate four generations of the same family. It is located on top of a hill overlooking Mumbai, and is arranged in a traditional Indian style around a central courtyard to avoid unwanted overlooking from neighbouring buildings. The architects were influenced by the ad-hoc building typologies that many of the city's inhabitants construct using found materials. This prompted them to used salvaged materials in their design, helping to promote an alternative approach to recycling. "A visual language emerges that is of the found object, ad-hoc, eclectic, patched and collaged," they added. "An attempt has been made here to apply some of these lessons without romanticising or fetishising them." Project credits:
OFTC - Home Unity - Manual: Importing Objects From SketchUp Importing Objects From Blender How to do Stereoscopic Rendering Overview SketchUp is one of the commonly used software for architecture modeling. To use a SketchUp model for visualisation in Unity, user will previously need to convert it to an intermediate format which Unity supports and use the converted format in Unity. To overcome this problem, Unity now supports importing SketchUp file directly into Unity without the need for conversion and allowing user to access certain properties within the SketchUp file within Unity which is not previously possible. Glossary of Terms Importing SketchUp Model Importing a SketchUp file into Unity is similar to importing a 3D model that is supported by Unity (eg FBX). Click on Assets -> Import New Asset.. from the menu bar Drag and drop the file into the Project window‘Import New Asset…’ via Project window’s context menu Once the model is imported, you can place then use the model in your scene by placing it into your scene. la femme au tableau Erinnerungen sind unbezahlbar. Open Source Living Fractal Lab - sub.blue History Fractal Lab started around the beginning of 2011 as my first explorations rendering fractals in the browser with WebGL. Previously I had created renderers using Adobe PixelBender and QuartzComposer, which both had the advantage of easy integration into Photoshop and AfterEffects but were very limited when it came to interactively exploring the fractal space. Fractals are by nature highly detailed and so the smallest change to an input parameter can often result in dramatic differences in the output shape. The first version of Fractal Lab was a proof of concept to show that you could modify and fly around the fractals in the browser at interactive speeds. Although I had dabbled with the idea of turned Fractal Lab into a full featured product it currently remains a personal side project that I hack around with in my free time to try new web technologies and rendering approaches. [WIP] Procedural fractal mesh generation Hi everyone! Example settings for the branching generator. It's fast enough on my computer that it's pretty much realtime in the editor when changing values. I'll try to update a gif example of this later on
