How to Make a Clipping Mask in Adobe Illustrator - The White Corner Creative Clipping masks are something that not a lot of people know much about – but they can take your designs to an entirely different level. They can spice up a simple piece of text, add beautiful patterns to a standard vector, and add a little umph to almost any shape. A clipping mask is an object that masks (or hides) other artwork, so that you can only see the artwork inside the shape. Essentially it is like taking a window and placing it in front of a scene, so that you can only see the scene through the window.

How to make gift bags from newspaper When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper. This will be a two-ply bag for extra sturdiness. 20 Creative DIY Project Ideas We all have many old and unused items lying around in our homes or garages waiting to be thrown away. Somewhat Quirky: Love One Another Subway Art - Fall Fix-Up #8 Part 1 It's still fall and one of the things that I've been needing to make is "due" this Saturday so I get to add one more thing to my Fall Fix-Ups 2012.A friend I made when we lived in Kansas City got married last week in Cancun. Her reception is this weekend in KC and we will be making a flying trip down (and back) to celebrate and wish her and her husband the best. This wedding means a lot to me. I know that sounds selfish, but she was always one of those girls that lived through one bad ending relationship after another. That possibly means that she lived through one bad relationship after another, but that's not for me to say. That said - I could not be happier that she has found someone to share her life with.

Watercolor Cookies Recipe - Style Me Pretty Living If you’re loving the watercolor trend that’s popping up everywhere this spring, don’t miss out on these gorgeous cookies from Lark & Linen! Jacquelyn transforms simple sugar cookies into works of art with fondant and a bit of food coloring! “I originally made these watercolor cookies for Easter a few weeks back, and because I wasn’t sure how they would turn out I didn’t really have any intention on blogging about them. For all I knew it was going to be a total disaster, albeit a delicious one, and I really just wanted to attempt them for fun,” says Jacquelyn.

Newspaper basket Last night's project, a basket made from old newspaper. After seeing this post at CraftStylish, I was inspired to try one. Maybe I'll keep books and remote controls in it. 1. I cut the folded edge off a couple sections of newspaper and then cut those pages in half lengthwise. MAGAZINE ENVELOPES 18K+ Well I got this idea from our friend Nina. She was making these super cute envelopes out of scrapbook paper and I really wanted to make some! So I came home and made some! They are so so SO simple and add a personal touch to your envelopes. Our Home Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? I have a special delivery for you today. A WHITE CHRISTMAS Yup. Fruit Macarons Yes, it’s only been five days since I’ve last played with my food. This time I had a little encouragement though after a Friday morning meeting with Bite Macarons here in Houston, when naturally I left with two dozen colorful cookies… Seeing as how the fruit trend is still going full force and I’m surrounding myself with bad macaron influences, I decided I’d try my hand at a little fruit cookie action to make my college art career worthwhile. Luckily my career there wasn’t super impressive and there’s this magical thing called Amazon Prime that sells pre-made royal icing goodies, so these are sure to be do-able for the masses.
