Processing.js Basic Syntax A brief look at the structure of a Processing sketch reveals how easy it is to program interactive visualizations. As with any language, you begin by defining your global variables. Then you create a setup() function, where you control the visualization's properties, like the canvas size, frame rate and perhaps variables such as the stoke-weight or background-color. The next step is to create your draw() function, which controls the behavior of each frame in your animation. The draw function loops continuously unless you tell it otherwise by using the exit() command. To the right is a basic example of Processing.js in action. Adding interactivity to your visualization is incredibly simple. Processing.js also tracks a range of pre-defined variables like key, which stores the value of the last key pressed; or mouseX and mouseY, which store the last recorded position of the mouse pointer. Using Processing There are two ways of implementing processing. First Method Needed files:
Our Mission : FractalFoundation.org Our Mission: We use the beauty of fractals to inspire interest in Science, Math and Art. Our vision is for a world of wonder and curiosity, a culture of scientific inquiry, an appreciation of the interconnections of natural systems and an understanding of their essential nonlinearity. We see a world where everyone is mathematically literate and has a grasp of how math is a powerful tool to help turn their visions into reality. We are out to change the culture. We have enough sports heroes and movie stars. History: The Fractal Foundation was formed in 2003, as an outgrowth of the Albuquerque based “Chaos Club”.

Processing.org The stunning beauty of the Mineral Radiolarians Skeletons +69 more posted on Jul, 21 2012 @ 12:30 PM Radiolarians are holoplanktonic protozoa, a form of plankton found throughout the worlds oceans. One of the most interesting aspects of these organisms is that they possess a skeleton composed of amorphous silica. Their skeletons take on a diverse set of forms from ornate geodesic-like polyhedral lattices, spike encrusted spheres, to other complex geometric designs... Let's take a closer look at some beautiful pictures of these Radiolarians Skeletons... Breathing Wall: projection mapping onto a moving surface using a depth camera Wouldn't it be nice if we could sense information about the surface of objects at our fingertips? The way we touch objects, how firm we press them and generally how we move info the physical space can all be reflected onto the surface of the surrounding environment. Through this project I am going to show how to do a real time projection mapping onto the surface. This project is part of an interactive art installation, about which you can find more information here: The main objective of the projection mapping is to project Contour Lines for displaying spatial information about the surface in real time. For whom can this project be useful? Why topographic lines? In “Breathing Wall 2.0” since the rods moved the surface, information about the surface was constantly changing. So the procedure I used is as follows:
Fractal Universe How to create a parallax scrolling website using Skrollr.js | Tutorial Today’s parallax website tutorial is a detailed explanation of the Parallax Scrolling Effect using Skrollr.js published a few weeks ago. You will learn how to create a simple parallax scrolling website using Skrollr.js plugin. If you haven’t seen the demo already, go and check it out. View Demo Introduction To develop a parallax scrolling website can be a bit scary especially if you do it for the first time, but as you know the practice makes perfect. Please note, that this tutorial is suitable for a more advanced developers and attached files are the final files. 1. As a first step we need to include Skrollr.js preferably before the closing body tag. Initiate the Skrollr inside of the _main.js file. Now lets have a look at the markup and Skrollr settings of the individual slides. 2. Section height – 100% of the viewport, resized on page load Background animationThe background image of .bcg is animating from the initial position (data-center) 50% 0px to 50% -100px. 3. 4. 5. 6. Conclusion
