Graduate recruitment agencies The UK graduate market offers an important pool of qualified candidates for employers across all sectors. While lack of experience typically leads to entry-level jobs, graduates are thought to be 15%-20% more likely to attain work than candidates without a degree. Finance, marketing and law companies offer some of the best career opportunities for ex-students and graduate recruitment agencies are necessary to search and supply the best personnel available to their clients in these industries. These could be for permanent, contract and temporary positions. Due to the prominence of entry-level roles and graduate schemes, salaries for candidates are typically below the national average. Graduate Development Programme The British Horseracing Graduate Development Programme has been running for over 20 years, providing an invaluable source of talent to the sport and its supporting industry. Around 300 graduates have completed the Programme and many are now key figures in racing. Graduates from previous years work in management positions in racecourses, bookmakers, the trade press, trainer’s yards, studs, bloodstock sales and the British Horseracing Authority to name a few. A passion for horseracing is a must but experience is not essential. If a career in an exciting, high-profile and challenging industry sounds appealing, then the Graduate Development Programme may be of interest to you.

Careers, Employability and Enterprise Centre : Graduate opportunities with a 2:2 Many organizations do stipulate a 2.1 as part of their graduate scheme entry requirements but not all. In fact there is a wide variety of graduate training programmes open to graduates with a 2.2 degree. The Civil Service Fast Stream is perhaps the most high profile example of a 2.2 graduate scheme but opportunities exist across all sectors. Your options will be narrowed slightly but if you are prepared to expand your search, and think outside of the most familiar graduate recruiters, there are some excellent opportunities to be found.
