Kobo Instant Reader, lancé en mai dernier, est donc maintenant disponible dans le Chrome Web Store. Je ne reviendrai pas sur le potentiel des applications web pour les géants de l’ebook (Amazon, Nook, Kobo, Apple ou encore Sony et sur le fait que l’avenir est certainement dans cette direction. La liberté qu’elle laisse à ceux qui créent des applications est intéressante, et évite aussi de développer une application pour chaque plateforme (et à la soumettre, la mettre à jour, sans parler des coûts que cela entraîne). Kobo, qui a été historiquement le premier à croire au potentiel des applications de lecture et à en proposer, a ainsi franchi le pas en mai dernier avec Kobo Instant Reader, et de manière assez réussie. Contrairement à l’application Nook qui ne fonctionne pas sur le navigateur de l’iPad, cela fonctionne très bien avec Kobo, que ce soit sur Chrome ou sur Safari.
