How To Get Wavy Curls How To Put A Wave Into Straight Hair: Turn your straight hairdo into something bouncy and wavy for the night, using these simple tips from hairstylist Andrew Jose. Hello. My name's Andrew Jose of Andrew Jose Salon in Charlotte Street, London. Now, if the hair is very clean, then a good way of prepping it is just to take a little bit of hair spray. Open your irons, and place the irons close to the root of the hair being careful not to touch the head, and wrap the hair around the barrel of the curl, just holding the tips, and then shake out. Take a small piece of hair; place the iron close to the scalp, but not touching the scalp. And you're left with simple, loose waves.

Bottle (w)rap I drink a lot of wine. And end up with a lot of empty wine bottles that are oh so pretty, it breaks my heart to have to junk them with the raddi- walla. I've been trying to find all sorts of utility excuses to hang on to them - wate bottles, plant holders and what have you. And now I have the perfect non-utility excuse to collect some more! Used: Coloured raffia from Le Papier Empty clearglass wine bottles (Sula Zinfandel -which is incidentally my personal favourite) Heavy duty glue (I have this stick of industrial glue that solidifies when it cools but I guess Fevicol would do as well) Starting at the bottom (cos the top's a bit tricky) starting winding the raffia tightly around the bottle, pausing to add a bit of adhesive every now and then. Edited to add: A couple of months later some more string arrived. And about half a dozen wine bottles later, here's what happened:

The Perfect Mermaid Curls Although “perfect” is a relative term, this method for curling hair is pretty much perfect by my standards, mostly because it isn’t fussy. While I’m a sucker for both ringlets and Californian waves, I like my own curls somewhere in between: relaxed but bouncy. Mermaid-like. Supplies: 1″ curling iron, brush, and hair sprayTime: 45 minutes (for thick hair) All of the magic happens with Revlon’s “Helen of Troy” ceramic 1″ curling iron. For hairspray, I’m a fan of Tigi’s Hard Head, which has a strong hold without the severe crunchiness. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Repeat this around your entire head. Don’t get lazy with the back of your head! Et voilà! Keywords: wavy hair tutorial, curly hair tutorial, curling iron tutorial
