Underdark Preview 2 -- Burrows & Strands This week we're looking at two uncommons and a very special rare, all of which should have some place on the skirmish table and in RPG dungeons. Ankheg We're leading off this week with another of the set's eight large uncommons: the somewhat beloved Ankheg, the magical beast notorious for scooting out of its burrow to grab a party member and scuttle away for dinner. Well, that's how DMs in my sadistic play-groups like to use 'em. In D&D Miniatures, the Ankheg will sign up with CG or CE as a wandering monster. Xorn Here's a second uncommon with the Burrow 4 ability. As you'd expect for a rocky earth-creature, the Xorn has high AC and decent hit points. Roper Some of you will have seen Mat Smith's introduction of the Roper. I'm not going to detail the Roper's nasty abilities. That's all for this week. About the Author Rob Heinsoo is the lead designer of D&D Miniatures.

Strolen's Citadel: 100 Unique Town/City Properties By Redgre I have created this table plus, as a fantasy RPG resource. The idea is to assist in quickly mapping out an area of the adventure and be able to tell something unique about each populated location. Some of the following entries are reliant on location, others are not. I have created enough entries that you may want to use percentile dice to randomly determine each location. Due to this, I have created a separate table to assist with the randomness for your convenience. Although each location could be a city or a town or whatever you like, I will be referring to each as a city. – The city is famous for it's baked goods. Pies Cakes Bread & Scones Pastries Cookies & Squares – The city has an ample supply of leather from local ranchers or ranchers from other settlements that have no other location to dump their hides. – This city had discovered an elephant's graveyard in it's backyard (or something similar). - A legendary or almost legendary sword smith had settled in this city many years ago.

Painting — Painting When sculpting large creatures, there is always a balance to find between adding details and textures and making the model look over complicated and sometimes a little messy. It is good to leave blank areas sometimes, as a ‘painting solution’, to do your own thing; shields and banners are a good example of this. Painting texture on an otherwise blank surfacecan really bring your creatures to live and give them added character. Xanathar I decided to take an unconventional approach to this beast, and use the painted texture as a highlight.

Visit my Pathfinder Character Generator also. This little program is my gift to my fellow-gamers, and my way of saying "thank you" to the hobby's developers. Over a quarter-century, I have enjoyed a cordial relationship with people at TSR/WOTC. This big javascript program runs best on "Netscape" browsers. If you want to save your character's html file to your hard drive, Netscape seems to work better. If this page fails to load completely, click here. Please be sure your browser is javascript-enabled and your java and javascript consoles are current. Random rolls that guarantee certain point-buy values are available. When the height is selected or randomly generated, the initial weight shown is around the actual real-world weight for a lean person of that height and strength. If you choose an unusual monkish subtype, you may have some trouble with feat prerequisites. Demihumans: Humanoids: Planetouched:

Fey Where the laws of science, logic, and reason defer to the arts of magic, story, and rhyme. The Feywild—for those who've never been—is a place bright with magic, where "the laws of science, logic, and reason defer to the arts of magic, story, and rhyme. Ordinary animals and objects converse as eloquently as any worldly mortal. Enchanted forests wander across the landscape like herds of roving sheep. Glorious castles perch on mountain spires that touch the starry heavens, and a bold traveler can board a vessel to a fey palace on the moon." Sounds lovely, doesn't it? This month, D&D has ventured fully into the land of Faerie. But what exactly is the Feywild? The Faerie Kingdom Of course, most people are well aware of the fairy aspect of fairy tales. We also have the concept for an "otherworld," a world alongside our own where fairies reside and mortals can pass only with certain consequences. In fairy lands, time passes differently.
