Tor Browser 4.0 Released, Install it in Ubuntu 14.04 Tor Browser 4.0 has been released recently with important security updates to Firefox and SSLv3 disabled due to the POODLE attack. The first release of the 4.0 series is available from the Tor Browser Project page and also from our distribution directory.This release features important security updates to Firefox. Additionally, due to the POODLE attack, we have also disabled SSLv3 in this release.The primary user-facing change since the 3.6 series is the transition to Firefox 31-ESR.More importantly for censored users who were using 3.6, the 4.0 series also features the addition of three versions of the meek pluggable transport via the official announcement Thanks to Web Upd8 Team, the binary packages have been made into PPA, available for Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 and their derivatives. Download failed.: Operation timed out after 30 seconds posted on January 31, 2009 in Linux, Unfiled with 5 Comments Been getting this error “Download failed.: Operation timed out after 30 seconds” every time I try to update a plug-in in my WordPress 2.7. After some digging around I found that my web server’s download speed was pretty low. WP 2.7 by default has a 30 second timeout set for it’s download function which I constantly kept hitting. The workaround’s a simple hack to the file.php file in the /wp-admin/includes/ folder. 1. 2. ” $response = wp_remote_get($url, array(‘timeout’ => 30)); ” and replace it with; ” $response = wp_remote_get($url, array(‘timeout’ => 60)); ” function download_url() at wp-admin/includes/file.php 3. mitcho (Michael 芳貴 Erlewine) Vertically suspended zen gardens These beautiful hanging gardens suspended by thin string are a whimsical art installation type project by Fedor in Belgium. Using string, moss, grass, and bowls or a glass reservoir, various types of plants are transformed into mid air planted floating gardens that are a variation of kokedma, a Japanese botanical style. The string gardener says his intention is for the plants to “find their balance” as they grow and become heavy. The string gardens are meant to be viewed at eye level. Some of the plants are covered with moss and placed in a bowl, others are woven into horizontal nets which are covered with moss, clover and grass. Some string gardens float in their environments alone, some are grouped with others creating a sort of horticultural symphony. On a practical note: the gardens are irrigated in different ways.
