Snow, Ice, water and deicing chemicals can wreak havoc on unprotected concrete and masonry surfaces. Throughout the winter months, water penetrates and saturates unprotected concrete and surface cracks. A few simple and inexpensive preventative measures can help you avoid winter damage and costly concrete repairs. Cracks in Concrete: Water flows through cracks in concrete and saturates the base material. As the water freezes and thaws, the slab can lift and fall creating ever widening cracks.

Blue-Gray Chest I've been wanting to do a piece like this for awhile, but didn't have the right item. But that changed last week when I found this for $20 at Savers! Because of it's unique size, it could be so many things...a large night stand, a child's chest of drawers, a chest for storage in an entryway. I used the paint that I put on this bench. An oops color that I thought was blue (because of the bench), but on this piece, it looks more gray. Either way, I love the end result!

Design*Sponge » Blog Archive » diy project: brenna’s paper capiz shell chandelier i love wax paper for packing lunches; i wrap sandwiches in a piece of wax paper and tie it like a present with a little cotton string. it’s so much better looking than a plastic bag. wax paper comes in handy for more things than i realized, like rolling it up to use for a funnel, or how about rubbing a piece of wax paper on the top of your shower curtain rod to cut down on that terrible screeching in the morning…problem solved. but who knew that if you iron layers of wax paper together it looks remarkably similar to a capiz shell? this discovery brought me to today’s project: the faux capiz chandelier. hung over your dining table, or outside at an outdoor dinner party, it is an easy solution to a dramatic light fixture and will look phenomenal in either setting. i hope you enjoy making your own as much i did! -brenna CLICK HERE for the full how-to after the jump! Easy Doily Bowl The One That Nearly Killed Me I found this coffee table for $7.99 at G-Dub...that's what I call Goodwill ;). So ugly. What are those rails for? I know you can barely see the rails...of course I didn't take a great before photo...the table is in the middle with the fabric sitting on top. Recycle Tutorial: Woven Rag Rug Thank you for all the great feedback for liking my Braided Rag Rug. I understand that not everyone has a sewing machine or/and able to sew, so I created this no-sew version for the non-sewer who like to recycle their bed sheets or de-stash their fabrics to make this feet cozy Woven Rag Rug. This tutorial doesn’t require any loom for weaving; just use a sturdy corrugated carton box from your recycle pile. I hope everyone can do their part on greening the Earth again and reduce the rubbish that loaded the landfill.

East Coast Creative {formerly RHBC}: DIY Barn Meets Beach Coffee Table This project is an oldie, but a goodie. We realized that we never posted about the amazing coffee table that Monica made for our first Nate Show, and that we now have listed for sale in our Etsy shop. We like to call this little beauty, our Barn meets Beach Coffee Table. Luckily for us, my father-in-law supplies us with amazing barn wood from his barn in PA. but don't worry! We'll show you how to recreate that look if you don't happen to have piles of reclaimed wood laying around. Stop what you're thinking right now!

Well the celebration has begun =] First I am going to share flowers made out of felt. And these particular ones are very easy! I know I am kind of biased with the color combination but all the felt flowers I will be sharing are going to end up in projects for my office so you will see those colors a lot. One of my favorite flowers are Camelias (Spanish name) and even tho just with 2 layers they don’t look much like Camelias if you use 3 or more, it will begin to resemble them =]

Rosette Pillow I'm sure you've all seen and been swooning over this pillow from Target Me too I just didn't have a spot in my house where the yellow would work. That, and it's no longer available. So, I attempted to make my own, and I really like how it turned out.
