Welcome ICDL - International Children's Digital Library Listening Comprehension, Listening that sparks learning | Listenwise PRESCHOOL PROGRAM - Early Learning STEM Australia (ELSA) ELSA is unique in the marketplace because of its pedagogically rich frameworks, developed by early years education experts with decades of experience in the field. The ELSA program is grounded in two pedagogical frameworks: STEM Practices and the Experience, Represent, Apply (ERA) cycle. STEM Practices ELSA’s STEM Practices—the ideas, methods and values that underpin STEM—encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, and reflect on what happened and why. Each on-app and off-app activity is linked to one or more of the STEM Practices listed below. ERA cycle ELSA successfully blends digital play and physical play, cycling children through on-device and off-device usage, ensuring screen-time is productive and well-regulated. Our Experience, Represent, Apply (ERA) framework provides educators with the know-how to integrate digital technologies within authentic learning contexts. User-generated content (UGC)

Children: Resources for Early Learning The playlists are a collection of videos and interactive games used throughout the curriculum. Each playlist gives you easy access to fun, interactive, and educational resources focusing on the concepts and topics of an individual curriculum unit. In Unit 1, children are introduced to their new learning environment, to each other, and to the ideas of exploring and observing their world. Children also begin to learn about family, friends, the alphabet, the library, and much more. In Unit 2, children are introduced to color. In Unit 3, children begin to explore the basic concepts of sound and gain an awareness of the sounds all around them. In Unit 4, children explore the world of musical sounds. In Unit 5, children investigate how different objects move when placed on a ramp and become aware that the shape and texture of an object affects whether it will roll or slide. In Unit 6, children learn about different materials and tools that are used in building houses and other structures.
