How to Transfer / Merge Your Google+ Accounts Early adapters would have created a Google+ account with their @gmail.com addresses. When Google announced the support of Google+ in Google Apps, most users face a dilemma: Should I continue using the Google+ that’s associated with my gmail or should I register Google+ with my Google App account? Then, there is the third option of maintaining 2 sets of Google+ accounts. If you opt for the third option, you will probably end up with 2 sets of friends that are duplicated over two different accounts. BigPrint BigPrint is a program to facilitate making large and accurate multi-page printouts on ordinary ink jet or laser printers. When I originally wrote my online gear template generator, I realized that paper templates are a surprisingly good way to make accurate layouts for gears. I later wrote a more sophisticated gear generator which added a grid of diagonal lines that could be overlaid to help align printouts. This feature turned out to be really helpful for aligning the pages of a large printout when gluing them together. When I designed my second homemade bandsaw, I made several 1:1 scale templates, including a full size one of the frame, which I printed over several sheets of paper — with diagonal grids to help line things up. The full size image of the frame made getting the frame dimensions right much easier.

8 cool tools for data analysis, visualization and presentation Reporters wrangle all sorts of data, from analyzing property tax valuations to mapping fatal accidents -- and, here at Computerworld, for stories about IT salaries and H-1B visas. In fact, tools used by data-crunching journalists are generally useful for a wide range of other, non-journalistic tasks -- and that includes software that's been specifically designed for newsroom use. And, given the generally thrifty culture of your average newsroom, these tools often have the added appeal of little or no cost. I came back from last year's National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting (NICAR) conference with 22 free tools for data visualization and analysis -- most of which are still popular and worth a look.
