Sociorama : une nouvelle collection Casterman dédiée à la sociologie Une nouvelle collection chez un éditeur est toujours un petit événement qui suscite la curiosité. En l’occurrence avec Sociorama, il s‘agit de découvrir des œuvres coréalisées par des auteurs de bande dessinée et des personnalités issues de la sociologie. La collection dirigée par Lisa Mandel et Yasmine Bouagga, en collaboration avec l’association de sociologues Socio En Cases, a pour objectif de raconter, en bande-dessinée, des enquêtes de terrain dans des récits graphiques très accessibles comme on pourra s’en rendre compte à la lecture des deux premiers volumes déjà parus. Le premier, La fabrique pornographique, signé Lisa Mandel, d’après une étude du chercheur Mathieu Trachman, raconte les dessous d’un tournage de film porno. Le deuxième livre, signé Claire Braud, d’après une enquête de Nicolas Jounin, nous plonge dans le monde des travailleurs clandestins, sur les chantiers de travaux publics gérés par des grosses entreprises qui délèguent à des sous-traitants. Her ghostly, monochrome self-portrait photographs are now revered, but is there more to her art than we realise? The American photographer Francesca Woodman is regarded as a defining voice of her generation. Although she was a teenager when the main body of her work was completed, Woodman is now talked of as the Sylvia Plath of photography, both in terms of her cultural attitude and the workings of her art. Yet, unlike the poet Plath, Woodman remained almost completely unrecognised throughout her short, tragic life. Indeed, her rejection from the established industry of the time may have contributed to her horribly sad death.
