Computer Man-Caves That Make This Writer Drool And Cry
Steven On May 14, 2012 Ever since I first managed to start using a dual monitor setup I was hooked and really couldn’t see myself returning for any long period of time to some piddly laptop or tablet screen especially considering my workflow. There are time that I wish I could even expand beyond those two monitors but that probably won’t happen for some time. So, like you I will have to make do with this awesome collection of computer man-caves with screens galore and make sure my drool towel is close at hand. La historia detrás de “2001: Odisea en el espacio”: la creación de un mito
Además de ser una de las grandes películas de la historia del cine –y también una de las grandes obras de especulación cosmológica–, 2001: Odisea en el Espacio es una de las obras más enigmáticas en la historia del arte reciente. El hermetismo de su creador como de la temática contribuyen a crear un culto alrededor de esta película que lo mismo ha sido interpretada como una obra de alquimia que como un aparato de control mental de las masas diseñado entre Kubrick y la NASA. Algunas pistas sobre esta cinta son reveladas en el reciente documental 2001: The Making of a Myth, presentado por James Cameron. En 1964, Kubrick se acercó al escritor de ciencia ficción Arthur C. Mi interés principal se encuentra dentro de esta amplia zona, naturalmente asumiendo una gran trama y personajes: Las razones por las cuales creer en la existencia de la inteligencia extraterrestre. Una sonda espacial que aterrizara y explorara Marte. De esta agenda y del cuento corto de Arthur C.

Inspiriert von prägenden Filmemachern wie Wim Wenders und Andrey Tarkovsky, betrachtet der brasilianische Künstler Lucas Simões die Beschaffenheit des filmischen Frames präzise aus fotografischer Perspektive. In seinen installativen ‘quasi cinemas’ interessiert ihn besonders, wie die Filmkamera in wenigen klaren Einstellungen Bewegung erzeugt und unsere Vorstellungskraft anspielt. Dynamik entsteht nicht allein zwischen den Bildern. Somit fragt Lucas Simões nach den Details des einzelnen Frames und zerlegt es in seine Facetten, bis es sich wie eine weite Landschaft vor ihm ausbreitet. Un arcoíris hecho de rayos láser que se extiende 8 kilómetros (FOTOS)
Como parte de los Olimpiada Cultural 2012 que se celebrará en el Reino Unido a la par de la deportiva, la artista Yvette Mattern presentó en varias ciudades inglesas su Arcoíris Global, una creación lumínica hecha de rayos láser de alta potencia que se extiende por una distancia de 8 kilómetros, surcando la noche londinense en un haz policromático que intenta imitar uno de los prodigios más hermosos de la naturaleza. Ya Mattern había montado su “Global Rainbow” en la ciudad de Nueva York en 2009 y el año pasado en la francesa de Nantes, sin embargo, la importancia del acontecimiento que se celebrará en el Reino Unido sin duda ameritaba una repetición de este vistoso espectáculo. La fascinante belleza de las semillas (micro-modelos de reproducción cósmica)
Las semillas no solo engloban uno de los fenómenos más maravillosos de la naturaleza –la reproducción y el crecimiento explosivo– también constituyen una sublime y a veces secreta expresión estética. La belleza intrincada del mundo de las semillas se puede apreciar en el trabajo de Svjetlana Tepavcevic, quien casi por casualidad descubrió su diminuta atracción. Habiendo trabajado en fotografía de naturaleza antes, Svjetlana Tepavcevic se convirtió en coleccionista de semillas cuando hacía una caminata por Los Angeles y encontró un “objeto fabuloso. Estaba sucio y dañado, pero su estructura intrincada y su extraña belleza me fascinaron. Demasiado pequeño para ser el cráneo de un pequeño animal, el objeto aludía a muchas cosas”. Par captar este fascinante magnetismo embrionario, Tepavcevic utiliza un escáner con el que realiza impresiones de alta resolución. Pero la vida renace, en un mismo proceso circular. [Wired]

The Canadian company is better known for manufacturing luxury theater seating, but has also designed several themed home theaters including a traditional Batcave and a Pirates of the Caribbean ship. View all The impressive subterranean Dark Knight home cinema incorporates a dramatic interpretation of the film’s Batcave. The 12,000-square foot (1,115-square meter) home cinema is currently being built in a private home in Greenwich, Connecticut and comes with a whopping US$2 million price tag. “The Dark Knight-themed custom home theater was actually a design concept we did free of charge for one of our previous clients, mainly just for fun,” said Elite Home Theater Seating’s CEO Bobby Bala.
