Musicovery Review - Fall 2011 RTW - Roberto Cavalli - Collections Gold, copper, bronze, pewter—anything that glisters and glimmers in the way of lamé, Lurex, and panne velvet has come to the fore this season in Milan. That, of course, gives Mr. Roberto Cavalli the ideal opportunity to hammer out another way to lay on the opulence for his hippie-chick for fall. This season, he’s poured an entire crucible of metallics into layerings of brocade jackets over an amalgam of gleaming long-sleeved blouses, skinny pants, and loose, flyaway pleated chiffon dresses and skirts in the Cavalli signature animal prints. That, really, is it—give or take several sinuous floor-length burnout-velvet dresses, some super-elaborate feathered jackets, fur vests, and a slew of traily Lurex scarves.
