Isåfall är du i gott sällskap – redan 1885 var denna form av trots ämne för ett läroverkskollegium vid Halmstads högre allmänna läroverk. 29 april detta år samlas inspektor, rektor och samtliga lärare för att hålla förhör med 17-årige Lennart Nilsson, som kommer till mötet tillsammans med sin mor. Han har uppvisat vanvördnad och trots mot sin lärare, kandidat Lundvall, samt utan tillåtelse därefter lämnat läroverket. Det samlade kollegiet finner i sin dom att med ”afseende på dessa förbrytelsers svåra och all laglig ordning upplösande beskaffenhet Nilsson hafva gjort sig ovärdig att vid läroverket njuta undervisning” och förklaras förvisad från läroverket fram till höstterminens början 1888.
