Beautiful Watercolor Landscapes (12 pieces) Z.L. Feng grew up in Shanghai and began painting at the young age of seven. After experimenting with all kinds of different mediums, he finally settled on a favorite - watercolor. The artist always revered the medium because of its level of difficulty. “With watercolor you cannot cover your mistakes, so you must know what you are doing,” he says. One of Feng's favorite places to find inspiration is in the countryside of Virginia's New River Valley.

The Art of OaKoAk Some of the best street art has humor built into it. In the case of French street artist, OaKoAk, they take what the city gives to them and creates a witty street piece. Who hasn't wanted to turn a tile doorstep into a piano, or a sewer cover into a Viking's shield? A lot of these pieces are simple statements done very well.

Disney Princesses In Accurate Period Costume These are very beautiful drawings! Although I am sad to see Belle looking so unlike herself. On a different note: I’d love to know what the reference was for the period costuming for each Princess. Given what I know about the stories, a lot of these seem a little inaccurate time period wise (I have no idea about the costumes other than that they look gorgeous): - As far as I know, the German “Snow White” was published in 1812 with the rest of the Grimm’s collected works; even her supposed ‘real’ influence lived in the 18th century.

Minjae Lee – Colorful Illustrations Minjae Lee is a young South Korean artist whose work is filled with powerful colors, aggressive scenes and a clever blend of beauty, innocence and fragility. At just 22 years old, he’s a self-taught artist, that uses old-fashioned tools, such as markers, pens, crayons, acrylics, to create his illustrations. His dramatic works are all about pattern and texture that just add more authenticity to his illustrations. You can check out more of his fantastic works on his DeviantArt profile. For purchasing his canvas prints and other products, check out the artist’s website. I have loved color since I was 7 year old. 3D Paintings on Panes of Glass Using multiple layers of clear glass, Canada based David Spriggs and Chinese born Xia Xiaowan, transform flat artwork into 3D sculptures. Viewers are treated to different shifting perspectives of the works based on where they stand in the art space. Spriggs work revolves around powerful explosive imagery, often resembling storms, cosmic blasts or firework like explosions. Xiawan’s “spatial paintings,” which often feature distorted figures, are drawn individually using colored pencil on tinted glass. Only when these pieces are combined on their floor racks do the images create the whole hologram like effect. Street Art Current Issue On sale now at newsstands or on screen May 2014 - Issue #160 All year long, Juxtapoz is celebrating its 20th Anniversary by showcasing the pivotal figures in contemporary art over the past two decades. Some artists are blue chip, some are underground heroes, others are behind-the-scenes legends. This month, we honor one of the great artists from Los Angeles during our existence, Alexis Ross, who has been monumental in various landmark exhibitions including "Street Market" at Art In the Streets. From working with ESPO, TWIST, and REAS, or working on his own paintings, Ross' story is one of history, frankness, and colorful nostalgia.

A Father Who Creatively Captures His Kids (20 photos) If there was a prize that could be given out to the most creative father, I'd hope that it was awarded to Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by day, he's used to capturing some of the most important moments in a couple's lives. As a longtime fan of Jason's photos on Flickr however, I think the real magic happens when he turns the camera onto his daughters. Sure, his children are adorably cute in their own right, but that's not what makes his photos so interesting. It's when he puts his own spin on their everyday moments that we not only get to experience our own childhood again, we're able to see a father's pride shine through.
