Free Crochet Pattern: Knock Around Hat - Crochet Zone
It seems everywhere I look these days someone is doing a “knit look” crochet pattern. I do knit, but crochet is so much faster and so these patterns are very welcome indeed! Most of the stitching looks like the traditional garter and stockinette stitches which are lovely, but I wanted to try my hand at something that looked a little more textured. The Knock Around Hat is a basic beanie sized from newborn to adult, that has a texture similar to a knitted embossed or moss stitch and the band is reminiscent of fair isle. marianna's lazy daisy days: Crochet Baby Mitts I have seen some cute crochet baby mitts lately, and wanted to make some for a new baby ~ but I worry that tiny fingers might get caught in open crochet stitches. I wanted the mitts to look pretty but to be practical too. So I designed a pattern in half treble crochet which gives a denser fabric. Baby Mitts Requirements: DK yarn 4mm crochet hook Pattern: This pattern is written in UK terminology. tc = treble crochet . htc = half treble crochet The first round and the last round are worked in treble crochet, all other rounds are worked in half trebles. Worked in the round. Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring. Round 1: ch3, make 9tc into ring, slip stitch to join. (10sts) Round 2: ch2 then 1htc in same stitch as ch2, 2htc in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (20sts) Rounds 3 - 9: ch2, 1htc in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (20sts) Rounds 11: ch3, 1tc in each each stitch all around.

Basic Earflap Hat Pattern | Chronicles of the Christian Mom I was contacted over Ravelry from someone requesting my pattern for this hat. Staring blankly at the screen, I think, "...how did I make that?" Ha! So, I sat down, strained my brain a bit, and wrote out a vague pattern. Basic Earflap Hat This hat his completely customizable, including yarn, size, and creativity. All SCs are done using BOTH loops for added thickness and for appearance. Materials: Any worsted, chunky, or bulky yarn Hook size according to yarn packaging Row marker (optional) Terms (US): SC: single crochet SL ST: slip stitch CH: chain ST: stitch DEC: decrease or SC2TOG Crown: This will save you many tears of failure later, after you've made that sad discovery that that wonderful hat you've toiled over is way too small/too big. To figure how big of hat you'll need, measure your head (or the recipient's head) around. So, now that you've figured out how wide the crown of your hat should be, now it's time to start the increasing rows. Basic crown: CH 5, SL ST in first chain to form ring.

Kirstens Knits: Seeing Stripes, Men's Beanies for Charity Last week I posted some patterns for newborns. Today I have 2 simple men's hat patterns. These work up quickly as well and are great for donating to shelters. Because they use a small amount of yarn, you could probably add these to your stash-buster pattern list. Each hat uses 3 different colors of yarn. Ok, let's begin! If you notice any errors in my patterns, please leave me a comment and let me know. learning to write: crochet baby booties Hello my lovely blogging friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their day or night whichever part of the world you are right now. On my last post, I mentioned that I made a promise to my sister that I will make 12 pairs of crochet baby shoes or booties for her baby girl. Also, I posted the 3 pairs that I have completed. Today, I completed 4 more. I have decided to name them... First, The sweet butterfly because of the shape of the buttons and my favorite colors that's what makes it sweet :-)! Then,The Tomato or can be Strawberry shoes! And one of my favorite, I named it The Tinkerbell booties because of the color. Lastly, my version of christmas booties. Ladies, I am working on the pattern for the elf/chili peppers shoes. Once again, Thank You very much for the comments on my last post.Comments are very much appreciated God bless you all and have a great day!

Knit One Below (K1B) Baby Hat Variegated yarns are beautiful, but they are not always easy to incorporate into projects. You never know until you start knitting how the colors will pool. If the yarn is self striping each colored section is long enough for you to knit multiple rounds in a single color. Otherwise, you don't know if you'll get a spiral, or big patches of color that appear unordered. The book Knit One Below: One Stitch, Many Fabrics by Elise Duvekot discussed a wonderful technique to mix up the colors a bit, Knit One Below (K1B). Materials Peaches & Creame, Salmon Royale (Color 169). The colorway. The Pattern: CO 60 sts. Crown Decreases:Row 1: *K1b, K1, K1B, K1, K1B, K1, K1B, K3tog*, repeat across (48 sts)Row 2: *K1, K1B* repeat across (Note: you are K1B'ing into the k3tog stitch. K1B fabric is stretchy, like a ribbed pattern. Notes: At first I cast on 70 sts, but the circumference as 16 inches. Suggested Pattern Variations: The right side (top) and wrong side (bottom) of this K1B pattern.
