Sedan pågår det forskning just nu som inte är färdigställd ännu. Agnetha Ljung-Djärf (2004) studerade datoranvändandets praktik i förskolan. Margrethe Jernes (2013) en studie som syftar till att beskriva, analysera och problematisera samspelsprocesser i digitala förskolekontexter. I studierna ovan framkommer ett sorts dilemmaperspektiv. Anna Klerfelt (2007) har studerat hur barn och pedagoger gemensamt skapar berättelser med datorn som verktyg. Polly Björk-Willén (2011 & 2014) har gjort en studie om förskolebarns datorspelande som estetisk praktik och informellt lärande med fokus på barns samspel och positionsarbete framför datorn. Karin Forsling (2012) har studerat medielek och digital kompetens i en förskolekompetens.
