Section Off The waterfall braid works best on straight or loose waves. Brush out all the knots with a wide tooth comb. Braid As Usual Braid your strands regularly three times, beginning from the right strand. Drop the Strand This is where it gets tricky. Step and Repeat Repeat this process—French braid the left strand, drop the right strand, and pick up an adjacent new piece. Pin and Secure Once you've reached a comfortable point to stop your braid, secure it to your scalp with bobby pins. Fishtail It! Braid the remaining piece of hair left from your cascade into a fishtail braid. Accessorize Add a cute bow or flower to hide your bobby pins and give this look some extra hair flair.

Your hair doesn’t need to be extremely long, but you do need some length to cover the top of your head with. If you have layers, you could instead create a tiny French Braid where the hair is shorter and closer to your head, if that makes sense. Wax On, Wax Off - Homemade Hair Removal part 1 Unfortunately sisters Rebecca and Maggie come from a very hairy family. So when we saw recipes for homemade waxing we said, "OW!!" and then, "We gotta try this!" We spent Tuesday morning trying a couple different recipes with great results. If you have ever tried products like Nads, this recipe is just like that. Here's What You Need: 1 cup of sugar1/4 cup of honey1 ounce of lemon juicea drizzle of molasses (optional) You Will Also Need: cotton fabric strips (we used an old bed sheet) 3 in. x 10 in.popsicle stick or butter knife In a microwave safe bowl, mix all the ingredients together. Make sure the area you are going to wax is clean and dry. Now, using your Popsicle stick spread a very thin layer down your leg in the direction of the hair growth. Press your strip of into the sugar. Pull your skin taught. We did find that it took a little practice getting this technique down, but once we did we found it worked really well.
Maiden Braids Last month I did a makeover story with Kelsie and had many requests for a maiden braid tutorial. Yesterday she came in and we photographed these simple step by steps. Kelsie has extremely long and thick hair, but anyone with shoulder length or longer can do these braids (see my photo below for an example). Steps 1-2: Braid two strands on each side of a center part. Steps 3-5: Wrap braids around the crown of your head and pin in place with one pin each. Step 6: Arrange braids so that they cover the front of your head like a headband. Steps 7-8: Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail and pin it into a cute messy bun. Step 9: Add final pins and spray.

Breaking Down Beauty: Fixing Broken Powder Cosmetics & Painted Ladies By Sheila Arkee So, you have a favorite eyeshadow, pressed powder, or blush you absolutely cannot live without. Life happens, and sometimes before you even realize it, you find yourself the owner of your favorite product, smashed into 5 million little pieces. When your powder cosmetics are broken into 5 million pieces, you can always put them in a small container and use as a loose shadow, but you DO have the option of fixing the products so it’s almost as good as new. It’s easy! The only extra product you’ll need is Rubbing Alcohol that you can get from any old drugstore. Here is a lovely L’Oreal H.I.P. #319 eyeshadow that was sadly broken upon arrival. Step 1: Dump the shadow into a small bowl. Step 2: Use the back of a brush to crush the shadow into a fine powder. Step 3: I used the cap to my rubbing alcohol as a measurement and poured it into the container with the shadow. I used a wooden stirrer that I had lying around, but you can use a spoon or anything you want. Step 7: All set!
