Crystal River - The most beautiful river on earth [Pics] - StumbleUpon Cano Cristales - Crystal River. River of five colors, as the locals call it, originates in the south of the mountain chain Macarena, Colombia, and flows eastward to its confluence with the Guayabero river. In the Cano Cristales found five colors: yellow, blue, green, black and red. All of them are waste product of many algae and, depending on time of year, color saturation, or weakened or strengthened. Share on Tumblr Water What Cities Would Look Like Without Any Lights Islands An island, also called “an isle” is a piece of land surrounded by water on all sides. Some are larger, some quite small, but all “float” just as gracefully in the middle of endless water-scapes, being a constant tourist attraction. The following showcase enchants us with 50 pieces of photography of beautiful islands of all kinds and sizes. Pieces of paradise, this is what they are! We don’t have the locations for all them, so if you recognized an unnamed island, please let us know in the comments. Day view of Manhattan, New York, USA In 2006 I shot our very first spherical aerial panorama, from which the AirPano project started, in the beautiful place of the Colorado and the San Juan rivers confluence (USA): The result was overwhelming – by looking at the large screen one had a total illusion of flying over the canyon. And so we decided to continue our experiments. The next attempt was made in 2007 above the island of Manhattan. I remember this photo shoot by one funny detail: there were no headphones for passengers in the helicopter's cabin. I had to shout from the back seat (while trying to overcome the engine roar that was coming from the open door) to let the pilot know where to go. After that incident, when hiring a helicopter I always ask: Do you have passenger headphones in the cabin? Despite of all the difficulties, this photo shoot was accomplished, delivering world's first virtual photo tour above Manhattan. New York is the most famous city of the USA, and Manhattan is the most famous part of New York.
New York As A Way Of Seeing It is hard – in that obtuse, inhuman way which may or may not delight horror writers – not to be enthusiastic about New York. It is true what they say about the pulse, the energy here – but what does this mean? All you have to do is take to the streets, where everything seems to be happening. Here, behind closed doors must be just about the most boring place one could be. The streets. Forget terms like melting pot, you say, holding my hand. You spend time with a good book, a good friend, a lover, but there are cities and settings that just carry you with them, that make you forget yourself, that give you a new chance, every time. How relaxed and fashionable, how effortlessly cool, as though the city itself dresses and undresses all its tenants so that they seem they have humbled out of a really hip independent film, something that the Cannes festival would definitely love. And here comes the million dollar question. Because heaven forbid, you don’t value yourself. Why elude the issue?
