The normally nervous singer has really grown in confidence during the series so far and though the pressure should have been high before he performed on the semi final show, the former shelf stacker told his Facebook followers: “I’m excited for tonight ! Thanks for the support every one ! Douglas is bookies favourite to win and has been for weeks, so perhaps that accounts for his confidence or maybe he was happy because for the first time he got to choose his own songs to perform. The theme for this evening is ‘One For The Judges and One For You’ and Jahmene admitted beforehand that he had chosen numbers that were very personal to him and close to his heart. It was certainly moving and Nicole Scherzinger was in floods of tears before he crooned his final words.
