Li-Fi has just been tested in the real world, and it's 100 times faster than Wi-Fi
Expect to hear a whole lot more about Li-Fi - a wireless technology that transmits high-speed data using visible light communication (VLC) - in the coming months. With scientists achieving speeds of 224 gigabits per second in the lab using Li-Fi earlier this year, the potential for this technology to change everything about the way we use the Internet is huge. And now, scientists have taken Li-Fi out of the lab for the first time, trialling it in offices and industrial environments in Tallinn, Estonia, reporting that they can achieve data transmission at 1 GB per second - that's 100 times faster than current average Wi-Fi speeds. "We are doing a few pilot projects within different industries where we can utilise the VLC (visible light communication) technology," Deepak Solanki, CEO of Estonian tech company, Velmenni, told IBTimes UK. "Currently we have designed a smart lighting solution for an industrial environment where the data communication is done through light.

What Is Li-Fi? Meet The Revolutionary Wireless Technology That Is 100 Times Faster Than Wi-Fi Imagine a world where every one of the billions of lightbulbs in use today is a wireless hotspot delivering connectivity at speeds that can only be dreamed of with Wi-Fi. That's the goal of the man who invented such a technology, and this week Li-Fi took a step out of the domain of science fiction and into the realm of the real when it was shown to deliver speeds 100 times faster than current Wi-Fi technology in actual tests. An Estonian startup called Velmenni used a Li-Fi-enabled lightbulb to transmit data at speeds as fast as 1 gigabit per second (Gbps), which is about 100 times faster than current Wi-Fi technology, meaning a high-definition film could be downloaded within seconds. The real-world test is the first to be carried out, but laboratory tests have shown theoretical speeds of 224 Gbps.

The REAL ginger beer recipe! - 2 This instructable features making ginger beer from a real GBP plant, not yeast which has been in existance for probably centuries. If you've drunk commercial ginger beer it's nothing like this, it has a much smoother, tangy, fuller flavour than the sharp crisp versions made with just yeast. Oh how so many people have been fooled into making authentic, real ginger beer! Tsk tsk! Traditional ginger beer was made using a ginger beer plant.

Make liquor in the house with a Tabletop Moonshine Still Even though liquor is legal and you can just drive down to your local beverage warehouse for a jug of alcohol, making booze at home can still be a fun and easy, which is exactly what TableTop Still claims with their DIY spirits Stainless Steel Moonshine Still. It’s a compact system that requires no running water, and it has a 1/2-gallon capacity. That means it’s small enough to not take over your entire kitchen, but big enough to still make it worth the while. The contraption comes with extremely easy to use instructions that will have you quickly distilling your own alcohol.

Vauvert History[edit] Vauvert is first mentioned as the fief of Posquières (meaning "place of wells") when it was donated by Raymond Raphiel to Saint-Thibéry Abbey in 810. In the Middle Ages, a little village grew up around the frequently besieged castle on top of the Motte-Foussat, now known as Castellas. The Christians and the Jews created two separate communities in the village.
