Urban Eatery (Eaton Centre)
Urban Eatery is the swanky new food court (just don't call it that) opening September 1 as part of the Eaton Centre's $120 million revitalization. Needless to say, with a price tag that high, one would certainly expect a little shine. And that's exactly what I saw as I toured the almost-finished space as part of a media preview; a spaced swathed with glass, stainless steel, marble and natural wood. The upgraded and much-enhanced look wasn't entirely shocking--after all, it's tough not to improve on red fluorescents and grid flooring. But the real surprise was that Urban Eatery is not simply a glorified mecca of KFC, McDonald's, A&W and other fast-food chain restaurants.

4G, short for fourth generation, is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications technology succeeding 3G. A 4G system, in addition to usual voice and other services of 3G system, provides mobile ultra-broadband Internet access, for example to laptops with USB wireless modems, to smartphones, and to other mobile devices. Even though 4G is a successor technology of 3G, there can be signification issues on 3G network to upgrade to 4G as many of them were not built on forward compatibility. Conceivable applications include amended mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television, and cloud computing. Two 4G candidate systems are commercially deployed: the Mobile WiMAX standard (first used in South Korea in 2006), and the first-release Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard (in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden since 2009).
BBC - High speed mobile network to launch in Jersey
A telecom company hopes to make Jersey one of the first places in the British Isles to have a 4G mobile network. At the end of 2009 a new company was awarded a licence to operate a telecommunications service by both Channel Island regulators. Clear Mobitel hope to start rolling out the new LTE (or 4th generation) mobile network in Jersey within twelve months. The company has said it plans to invest millions of pounds in launching the new next generation network. After launch it could see islanders connect to the internet up to seven times faster than those currently available. The rollout is subject to approval from the UK regulator OfCom, who has responsibility for the radio waves that Clear Mobitel hope to operate their service in.
