Araki con il suo lavoro ha infatti contribuito a valorizzare questo sito archeologico di ben 900 anni, che lo scorso giugno è stato riconosciuto come patrimonio dell’umanità dall’UNESCO, nonostante i gravi danni riportati a seguito dell’Higashi Nihon Daishinsai, il devastante sisma dello scorso 11 marzo. Un bel gesto da parte del mangaka, originario di Sendai, nella prefettura di Miyagi, una delle zone più duramente colpite dal terremoto e dal successivo tsunami, che permetterà inoltre di focalizzare l’attenzione internazionale anche sull’opera di ricostruzione nella regione.
