Rare Rain at Ayers Rock A well-known Australian landmark, Ayer's Rock usually only receives a little over six inches of rain a year, but this freak thunderstorm in October of 2010 delivered half of that amount in one day resulting in preciously rare cascades of water down the face of the iconic rock formation that were captured by photographer, Peter Carroll.
