Louis Theroux: Most Hated Family in America | Documentary Heaven | Watch Free Documentaries Online The Most Hated Family in America is a TV documentary written and presented by the BBC’s Louis Theroux about the family at the heart of the Westboro Baptist Church. At the heart of the documentary is the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), headed by Fred Phelps and based in Topeka, Kansas. It runs the website GodHatesFags.com,[1] and GodHatesAmerica.com, and other websites expressing condemnation of LGBT, Roman Catholics, Muslims, Jews, Sweden, Ireland, Canada, The Netherlands, and other groups. The church bases its work around the belief expressed by its best known slogan and the address of its primary website, “God hates fags”, and expresses the opinion, based on its Biblical interpretation, that nearly every tragedy in the world is God’s punishment for homosexuality – specifically society’s increasing tolerance and acceptance of gay, lesbian, and bisexual people. Louis Theroux stated that the Phelpses are the most extreme people he has ever met.[7]

How To Build A Fireball You Can Hold Video One man, 100,000 toothpicks, and 35 years: An incredible kinetic sculpture of San Francisco Thirty five years ago I had yet to be born, but artist Scott Weaver had already begun work on this insanely complex kinetic sculpture, Rolling through the Bay, that he continues to modify and expand even today. The elaborate sculpture is comprised of multiple “tours” that move pingpong balls through neighborhoods, historical locations, and iconic symbols of San Francisco, all recreated with a little glue, some toothpicks, and an incredible amount of ingenuity. He admits in the video that there are several toothpick sculptures even larger than his, but none has the unique kinetic components he’s constructed. I have used different brands of toothpicks depending on what I am building. See the sculpture for yourself at the Tinkering Studio through the end of June. Update: Rolling Through the Bay has been moved to the American Visionary Art Museum through September 2012.

The Fox Is Black » Bach’s Cantata 147, ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ Played On a Giant Wooden Xylophone In a Forest This is probably the largest, least creative title for a post ever, but it’s also one of the most descriptive as well. The video is a commercial by DOCOMO for the Touch Wood SH-08C, a limited edition phone of which there are only 15,000 being made. But honestly I could care less about the phone, this commercial is a thousand times more cool. By combining lord knows how many pieces of wood, they were able to make a long, downhill track that was able to reproduce Bach’s Cantata 147, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. This is a pretty phenomenal achievement and a beautiful piece of art.

Jailbreaking Google's Cr-48 | Computechgadgets.com Rate this article : Google has unveiled it’s Chrome OS last week and has also started distributing the Cr-48 notebooks for pilot testing. Sure, it was great to try out Chrome OS in action on Cr-48. But, what fun is there if we don’t get a little adventurous, right? Someone from PCmag.com just did that. Apparently, every Cr-48 notebook comes with a white toggle switch located underneath the battery, next to the power connector. Developer mode switch hidden beneath a piece of black tape Developer mode switch in the on position In order to enter developer mode, you have to flip the switch to the other direction. When you’re done flipping the switch, put the battery back on and hit the power switch. Getting ready to repartition drive It will take about five to ten minutes for the system to repartition the solid state drive (SSD), which the console refers as “erasing the stateful partitioning”. Eye Candy: Mesmerizing Swinging Balls Video Not mine -- mine are hypnotizing. This is a video of one of those swinging ball desk toys (aka Newton's Cradle) but with different length droopers (mine drag on the floor), creating all sorts of crazy-ass designs. I just watched it twice back to back (the second time with my eyes unfocused) and I'm pretty sure I spotted the secret to the universe at one point. SPOILER: It was a pop-up porn ad. "A gay one?" Hit the jump for the worthwhile video but, WARNING: may cause dizziness. Youtube viaThe most beautiful video ever? Thanks to Church, who once mesmerized an entire living room full of bachelorette party attendees with his own swinging balls trick.

Frederique Daubal Conceptual Photography: Playing Hide and Seek The following unsettling art project may seem rather playful and unpretentious at first, yet this is actually a great series on a serious issue. Being made by a well-known French artist and photographer with a graphic design background – Frederique Daubal – and entitled ‘Hide and Seek’, this photographic series quite probably touches the issue of human integration in the community. Being formally pages from fashion magazines, Frederique cut these facial renditions into tiny vertical strips and made them into masks resembling Muslim niqabs. How to Make a Baby We made this video using a technique called "pixilation", which is a fancy term for stop-motion animation done with real people instead of puppets. We shot it, frame by frame, with Raquel's Canon DSLR over a period of nine months. Those of you who stopped by our house might have noticed some mysterious tape marks on the floor in the living room. Animating over such a long period of time, using an increasingly pregnant woman as one of your puppets, means basically throwing out everything you might normally do in an animated film. What emerged was a style you might call WYGIWYG: What You Get Is What You Get. This scattershot approach turned out to have a nice side effect: the 360 or so frames of raw footage had hundreds of possible interpretations, depending on how you shuffled the frames. The raw footage was really messy. All of the images you see were captured in-camera.
