Mark Lyon's GMail Loader (GML) - Import Your Mail into GMail In 2004, when Gmail was launched, I was amazed by the incredibly large 1GB capacity of the free service. The ability to instantly search a large volume of email was amazing. As someone who never deleted messages and still had messages dating back to 1994, I immediately looked for a way to import my existing mail into the new service. When I couldn’t find such an option, I decided to make one for myself. My tool works by reading the local mail file and remailing it to the new destination, one message at a time, into your Gmail account. In the intervening years, the Google Mail Loader has been used by thousands of people to upload their existing mail. If you’re looking to import your existing mail into a Gmail account, I highly recommend trying one of the following methods: Please note: Google has altered their MX servers. If you’re looking for a way to archive and back up your Gmail account, I recommend GMVault.

Create an Email Blacklist in Gmail If you constantly receive messages you'd like to ignore from the same persons or Gmail's spam filters aren't too good for you, it's time to create a blacklist. How to do that in Gmail? 1. Go to Contacts, click on Groups and create a new group (let's say "Blacklist"). 2. Each time you send a message to someone not in your Contacts list, Gmail will automatically add the person for you. 3. 4. 5. If you want to add more addresses, edit the filter by appending " OR newaddress1 OR newaddress2 ... Note that if you only want one or two address, you can create just the filter described above, by adding the address in the From field. Related:When will you run out of Gmail storage space?
