Daily Wedding Inspirations

Today we’re off to Brooklyn, with a waterfront wedding from Dave Robbins and Ang Weddings and Events, full of thoughtful details and the most delightful getaway car I’ve seen yet! “I’ve always had a love affair with the city, and the Brooklyn waterfront, particularly near Dumbo, felt romantic to me, so when looking for a venue, I really wanted something on the Brooklyn waterfront that faced Manhattan,” says Sarah. “A friend of a friend mentioned Liberty Warehouse which we had never heard of, nor did we come across it in any of our research, but we loved the rustic feel of the space and warehouse, that it was right on the water facing the the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan, and that it was catered by The River Cafe. We really wanted to take advantage of the outdoor space, so having the wedding in a warm month was key. We lucked out that there was one date still available – it was a complete coincidence that we got married on July 4th facing the Statue of Liberty!”

Project Wedding Blog It’s that time of week again! Here are some of our editor’s favorite boards and ideas that you may have missed: 13 Family and Friend Poses – Because every bride needs a photo sharing a kiss with her dad, hugging her mom, in between her best friends or siblings, and with the entire group of guests from above. DIY Spring Boutonnieres – Do not fear — making these rose, solidago, and monte carlo boutonnieres are actually one of the easiest do-it-yourself projects to tackle for a fraction of the price. Bonus! Oh Joy! I'm excited to announce the launch of the Oh Joy for Nod kids' bedding and decor collection! Inspired by Ruby and her transition to a big girl room, the collection is a limited-edition bedding and home decor line for kids. It includes baby, toddler, and kids' bedding, pillows, lamps, plush toys, rugs, and a curated collection of art to go with it all. The Sundae Best collection is inspired by Ruby's favorite food—ice cream—and how fun it would be to sleep surrounded by your favorite treat. I wanted to create an abstracted version of ice cream with sprinkle sheets and a cone-inspired pattern on the duvet. Topped with the ice cream cone and cherry pillows, it's seriously what my dreams are made of.

inspiring your wedding, with love Just before Christmas I received an email from the team behind Brides The Show, asking if I wanted to get involved as an ‘Official Blogger Ambassador’. Of course to be associated with one of the UK’s top wedding shows is a complete honour, but Brides is just another level! I love that they pick only the most stylish, dedicated suppliers to exhibit, and partner with incredible brands (Laurent Perrier, anyone?!) to offer their brides something different. Brides The Show is more than just a room filled with (very beautiful) exhibitor stands, but wants you to get involved too, with live demonstrations in the Imagination Room, chats with the experts On the Sofa and a not-to-be-missed catwalk curated by Brides very own Fashion Editor. Last year’s inaugral show created such a buzz, so needless to say Maxeen and I were excited to see what they had in store this year!

Bump Smitten: DIY Tutorial: Pomander Flower Balls Originally seen on Pizzazzerie, this DIY tutorial from Paula of Frog Prince Paperie comes from the beautiful baby shower I featured not that long ago -- Pink Little Birdie. These flower balls are such an adorable decoration and they also looks pretty easy to make. You can customize yours by changing the paper, the punch and even the pins.

About me Bonjour. Je suis Lisa, je vis à Paris, je ne suis pas une vraie parisienne . J’ai un vrai penchant pour les choses sucrées, la couture, les choses du passé mais aussi les lignes épurées du design contemporain. Bridal Style: Wedding Hair Key wedding trends for 2012 (Part1) Today on Bridal Style I am talking hair, wedding hair and what I think is going to be BIG this year. Gone are the days when wedding hair is all about structure, intricate detailing and how much hair spray you can get on your head in one go. These days styles have gone loose, de constructed and a lot more relaxed, as weddings themselves become a lot less structured! I have been doing a bit of research myself for a shoot I am involved in next weekend, and have come across some beautiful styles………I have been getting major hair envy!

You Are My Fave Brooklyn Bride - Modern Wedding Blog - Part 15 Save the Date: Tricia + Justin i made these save the dates for my upcoming wedding in berkeley, ca in august. i created the design with illustrator and then laser cut them on 1/16th inch plywood. i hand painted some with watercolors and left some unpainted to emphasize the material itself. i have additional photos i can send, as well as the actual save the dates if you would like to have one. mailing them was tricky because they are somewhat fragile so we sandwiched the between sage-y green museum board and chip board and tied them all together with a ribbon. as far as we’ve heard they all made it to everyone safe and sound! [image from Tricia] Save the Date: Kristen + Travis When my husband and I first got in engaged, it was right around thanksgiving and we ended up planning a November wedding. I wanted to make a save the date that was useful and unique.

Inside perfectly packed with great care was my gorgeous dress. I tried it on and it fits perfectly ! Without a doubt I am thrilled ! spring 2012 top fashion trends: modern romance Take classic elements like ruffles, florals, lace and peplums and apply them to shapes that are lean, geometric and exaggerated. It’s a gutsy yet glorious idea. The result is femininity that replaces dainty with drama.

Template Tuesday - Weeding April showers bring May flowers. Or in my case, April weeds. I moved into my house almost 3 years ago and when I moved in, there wasn't a weed in sight. Naturally Sweet DIY Valentine Happy Monday everyone! For some reason Valentine’s Day really has a hold on me this year. I’ve always felt that you don’t need a fancy card or expensive gift to let someone know you love them. For me, it’s the little gestures that I always remember the most. DIY Wedding Favours: Mini Candy Cartons. Free Template! For a somewhat less traditional take on wedding favours, I've designed these cute and quirky candy boxes in the style of miniature milk cartons! White A4 Paper or card Colour Inkjet or Laser PrinterWhite BradsGuillotine or ScalpelRulerDouble-sided Tape (or glue)Small Round Hole punch (around 2.5 mm in diameter)Template (Download below) Mini Candy Carton Template Print out the design template on your colour printer. I've deliberately removed the cut/fold lines on the design template as it would show on your final carton so please use this milk carton template from Mirkwood Designs as a reference for where to fold and cut on your actual design template. Using your ruler and scalpel, gently score along the fold lines, that are indicated by the dotted lines on your reference, on your printed template then crop your template out and cut along cutting lines that are indicated by solid lines on your reference.
