The Pains and Pleasures of the 'Floating' Teacher Remember that old saying "If life hands you lemons ... "? "Floating teachers" -- teachers who work from carts, not classrooms-- make their own brand of lemonade! Today, five floaters talk about the pains and the perks of teaching from a cart. They prove that you can't sink a good floater! Included: A link to a comprehensive, reproducible guide to " la cart" teaching for teachers and administrators. Teaching from a cart has its share of difficulties, but many teachers also discover unexpected rewards. "The teachers who remained in their rooms until I arrived energized me with their warmth and affection for students and for teaching," Maddox said. Another surprise benefit was the increased opportunity to work with colleagues. Dick Fuller, from Renfroe Middle School in Decatur, Georgia, seconded Reljac's opinion. Experienced floaters agree that the key to success is organization, planning, and preparation. "Plan activities that are portable and realistic," Reljac continued.

Dragonflies in First: Ditch the File Cabinet! A School Year in BINDERS! I'm sharing one of my FAVORITE things with you today. In my opinion, it's an essential part of planning and organizing your school year. Best of all, it's SIMPLE! I'm all about simple. Like REALLY simple. Clutter and chaos are my enemies. That's why I LOVE binders. Binders should be called clutter and chaos eliminators. Wonder who I can call about requesting that name change? Here are the top 3 reasons why you should also be obsessed with binders. I loathe file cabinets. That's my drawer there... the one with the dragonfly on it. File cabinets are great for storing things that you don't need to sort through. File cabinets are not very efficient for storing teaching resources. Plan a month at a time. Each month should have a binder. It's pretty awesome to look in my cabinet and see at a quick glance where I am in the year! Place a copy of each original you use in a plastic sleeve. Group these sleeves by copying requirements. Binder Groups single-sided sheets two-sided sheets 1/2 sheet originals

Agenda personnalisé pour les profs 13 Free Planner Pages and Resources For Teachers Even though it’s the end of the school year, the hunt for great resources never stops and one of the things that I have really been hunting for are teacher planner pages. Most times, I’ll find a link to a set of planning pages that takes me to teacherpayteachers (And admittedly, I have actually purchased one to use next year). However, once and awhile, I will come across a planning page that is free and really useful, either just as it is or as a template to create my own version. As I pieced together some of the recent teacher planner pages, I found some other resources that I thought I would share. It’s a wild mix of resources but they have all been of use to me and I hope, in sharing them with you, you will also find them to be useful. I’ve put my favorite ones here to share with you.
