Enercoop, Fournisseur d'électricité verte Public students' residences (CROUS residences) The Paris CROUS (Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) runs 50 students residences. 20% of the rooms in these residences are reserved for foreign students who come within the framework of an exchange program or have obtained a scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs managed by the CROUS. The rent for a CROUS residence is in average of 358 euros per month. // If you are coming within the framework of an international exchange program (Erasmus or other) A certain number of rooms in the CROUS students residences is allocated to each Paris university. These rooms are reserved for foreign students who participate in an international exchange program. Cité Internationale Universitaire of Paris Located in the South of Paris, the Cité internationale is one of the main accommodation centers for foreign students where residents from the world over find a very enjoyable living environment. Presentation5700 students are accommodated in the 40 students’ residences (called Houses) of Cité Internationale, on a 34 hectare wooded park, in the 14th district of Paris. Prices vary according to residences : between 350 and 450 euros per month for an individual room if you are a student, and between 500 and 800 euros per month if you are a researcher. In 2005, the Cité has been expanded with the opening of two new residences : Lilas and Quai de Loire in the 19th district. The Cité also offers a wide range of facilities and services, such as a theatre, restaurants, sporting facilities and libraries that are accessible to all students, whether they are residents or not. Finding a place to live The cost of housing varies widely, but international students, like French students, are eligible for housing assistance. It is reassuring to make housing arrangements before leaving for France. This is possible if you are able to secure a room in a university residence managed by CROUS, the regional student-service agency (although spaces in CROUS buildings are largely reserved for recipients of French government scholarships and students participating in exchange programs) or if you plan to attend an institution that maintains its own student residences. Otherwise searching for housing from outside the country can be difficult. You won't be able to visit properties and make fully informed decisions.
